Highlights of the 36-minute bonus disc:
What Is Bullet Time?
Inside the Animatrix
The Second Renaissance — Part 2

from the site...sounds like all of this stuff has already been on other matrix discs..still it's better than nothing

Inside the Animatrix and 2nd Ren. Part 2 are on the Animatrix dvd.

Bullet time is on the original Matrix dvd isn't it? It had a John Geta (sp?) talking about how he came up with "bullet time."

Read at HTF that it might have both films' theatrical trailers (which, if I recall correctly, aren't on either of the films' DVDs). That would make it worth getting.

Because it wasn't worth it before? I never understood the fascination with trailers. They're great if they're there, and they sometimes show clips not in the final cut of the movie, but they're the least interesting of dvd special features. I mean, who cares about a preview when you have the whole movie? Just my two cents

Yeah, to me, the bonus disc wouldn't be worthwhile if it had just those three recycled features. But to have the "Matrix" trailers, which I think are some of the most well-crafted trailers out there, would be cool.

Yeah, my friend and I watched the reloaded trailer like a billion times. It's really fun to play it in fast forward mode in quicktime, and I'm going to bb tonight at 12:00 to pick it up. Sounds sort of dumb but the first 100 get a free t-shirt and they're raffling off some other stuff!

The one here in Schaumburg, IL is in the ad to be opened from 12:00 to 1:00 am. You can go to the parking lot from 10:30pm to 11:40pm to sign up for prizes. It should say on the front page of the ad if your's is open.

more detail on bonus Matrix DVD in this site.
(dont' mind the chinese text here but it shows a pic of how the bonus dvd looks like and another pic of the Hong Kong R3 edition of The Matrix Reloaded. which is basically the same thing but with the addition of a holographic notepad)

basically, the guy says about the bonus disc that the disc quality is average, there's no menu screen for this disc, no subtitles.

I love trailers. It's always interesting to see how they craft it to make you want to see the movie. Plus, when someone who hasn't seen the movie (or even heard about it) asks, it's always cool to cue up the traler and say 'check this out'.

yeah...i just came home from BB. there was a good 500 people waiting in the rain to get it. The bonus disc is just 30 minutes through, you can't select what you want to watch. it has the theatrical trailers of matrix and reloaded

When trailers are on the DVD I like to watch them right before watching the movie to get myself into the mood of the movie.

When trailers are on the DVD I like to skip past them and get right to watching the movie.

I always like to check out the trailers after I watch the film, it's interesting to see what angle they used to market the movie once you have your own view of it. (Reign of Fire was terrible imho, but the trailer managed to create a great sense of energy and excitement )

No crowd at my best buy at noon, got a version with the bonus disc. They had a ton left, though there were copies without the bonus on the shelf.

I didn't know anything about it, and I'm kind of excited to watch it just for the Animatrix stuff as I havent's seen any of them.

FYI

The Easton BB in Col, OH had a sign up that quantities are limited on the bonus disc and that each site had a minimum of 350.

Same sign at the BB in Laurel, MD. Thought I thought it said maximum rather than minimum 350.

So, anybody watch the trailers yet? How's the quality? Dare I hope for nice-quality anamorphic widescreen?

I picked up Reloaded with the Bonus disc here in Orlando. Very hard to find a Widescreen copy with the bonus DVD. I think I may have gotten the last one.

The trailers are on the bonus disc but it doesn't allow you to select which one to watch? I hope they are at the front so I don't have to press fast forward in order to get to them.

Yeah, in my opinion the bonus disc isn't really worth it. Ah well.
