Well I ordered it from amazon a few days ago and it had an availabilty of shipping in 1 to 3 weeks, now it says "Availability: Release date to be announced:The release date for this video has not been finalized. You may order it now and we will ship it to you when it arrives."

Perhaps they have received so many orders that they were unable to fill them all withing 1 to 3 weeks? I called 2 nights ago to request a replacement set due to the lobby cards being damaged and missing. The CSR I spoke with stated that the set was extremely popular and that it would ship within a week. Hope she is right.

There have been rumors that the set will only be produced until the end of the year. However, I don't know that it's been confirmed.

I'll say it again. Unless it has a number on it, never trust Universal when they say "Limited". Hell E.T. should be a clear sign that the whole "it's gone for good if you don't get it by ___" should clue you in. I'm positive that by black friday, there will be tons on the shelf.

it being a Universal gift set could have told you that one.

lets see.. gift set.. christmas.. yeah, I'd expect more by black friday.
