I would love to hear some commentaries from Keenan.
Also, I hope they leave in the musical acts at the ends of the shows.

Minor point I know, but that is how they were originally presented, and I feel the original presentation should be preserved.
If this isn't some sort of compilation, I will be surprised. I was afraid a good deal of the topical humour would have been perceived as "too dated" for today's audience. Those of us who were there will get it, but how many teenagers will understand all the Clarence Thomas jokes (for instance)?
Interesting comment about the musical numbers. I can imagine some of those would be hard to clear. I think guest music artists were rare (if there were any at all) during the first season, and I don't think they were ever used at the end of the show that early in the run. The only special music I remember from the first year was on those Fly Girl dance routines in the middle of the show.

This IS great news.... as long as it's in season sets. I, no way, no how, will be purchasing a 'best of' set, or DVD's that are classified by an 'actors best on In Living Color', such as the Saturday Night Live DVD's. In Living Color is classic skit television and some of the characters from that show, for those of us now who remember the show before the next generation comes along, are absolutely unforgettable. Fire Marshall Bill, Homey The Clown. FOX should not do with this show what they first did with 'Married With Children' and 'test' the field with a 'best of' DVD. Because I know quite a few people who would definitely invest their money in a season set of this show.
And as far as Mad TV.... meh.

Homie the clown was my favorite part about In Living Color when it was on tv, because I was in the 4th grade and didn't really get anything else except Handyman. And I didn't think that sketch was very nice.

I was afraid "Living in Color" was, perhaps, a British show that I have never heard of. I'm glad to hear that it is, in fact, In Living Color.
I can't imagine this would be a complete season set, but we can hope!

When I read the threads in this forum, I thought to myself, "Oh man, In Living Color is coming out!" and then I saw that it said "Living In Color" and I thought to myself, "Oh great, some bizarre cult movie that is liked by three people
."
Thanks for screwing with my head

My bad i feel stupid i can't believe I wrote Living In Color rather then the correct In Living Color. It was late last night.
My fav In Living Colour Skit was the one where they did a spoof of the Aresenio Hall Show with Arsenio talking to Mayor Marion Barry. Oh man that is so funny. Jim Carey was brilliant on that show though Fire Marshall Bill is so hillarious.

Columbia released the MWC compilations. The only comps that Fox has done (that I know of) are The Simpsons Halloween and upcoming Christmas discs.

DVD Talk Limited Edition
From TVShowsOnDVD.com:
Fox hasn't officially announced it yet, but one of our e-tail partners, DVDEmpire.com, has put In Living Color - Season 1 up for preorder this morning.
Here is the (very short) description given by the online retailer:
The first season of the comedy show that crossed every line with their crude humor and introduced a new generation of comedy talent!
The release date is shown to be Feb. 3, 2004, with a list price of $39.98 (and DVDEmpire customers will get 25% taken off of their preorder purchase). The only other spec listed right now is a running time of 299 minutes, which sounds just right for the complete run of 13 first-season episodes of the show, at a half hour each.
Those of you interested in those episode titles and the sketches in each of them can check out the In Living Color episode guide at TVTome.com (a site that is a wonderful resource).
Stay tuned to us for the official announcement for this release from Fox Home Video, just as soon as they make it available.

Great news! I have most "off air" on VHS, but of course, I rarely watch them anymore.
I remember a skit wher they spoofed Billy Dee Williams and his Malt Liquor commercials that was only shown once. Apparently it was banned or something, and dropped from re-runs. Could be a rumor, but if true, I hope they will see fit to include now.

I've been waiting for this...now all I need is Martin and I'll be happy (I also wouldn't be mad if they sped up the Simpsons schedule as well). As for my favorite skit, I really thought that Keenan's "Frenchy" was hillarious.
