Rounders SE ???
I've heard a lot of people talk about how they would like this to be a SE release of Rounders, but have seen/heard no news of any forthcoming.
Such an awesome flick . . . great cast, phenominal cinematography, and fun/interesting plot/storyline. Lots of opportunities of special features too (poker info, interviews with real hold'em pros, and, of course, deleted scenes/commentaries/documentaries/etc.).
Anyone know anything?

I would love it by highly doubt it. This was a great but not so successful film.
I would really love to the story line that was cut out of it. You can tell from the trailer that Ed Norton is hunted down by the guys that he scammed in prison. That is why he is hiding in the gym when Damon finds him.
I would love to see that cut into the movie.

ah, the movie that got me back into poker....
I agree that it's a fantastic film, but a SE is unlikely due to the box-office. One of Damon's best, though

I couldn't wait any longer. When I finally got my multiregion player, I got the region 4 anamorphic version. I'm a happy man. I still would love a region 1 SE though, with a commentary. Teddy KGB is classic!
Here's a shot of a replica Teddy KGB oreo cookie holder I made for a poker party long ago.
It's the first picture. The bottom is a screenshot from the film

This film is absolutely fantastic -- usually mentioned on the list of films I just see too much.
While this film doesn't have broad appeal, I think it has a core group of fans that would probably buy it -- if Swingers gets an SE, why not Rounders? Matt Damon and Ed Norton have enough star power to command blind buys from Joe Bourbon.
Also, as an aside, anyone hate Jo (Gretchen Mol's character) in this movie?

I thought she was fine in the role, exactly what the character called for. Though I think she and Matty went their seperate ways a little too happily.
"Call me! ... if you need a lawyer!"
"I will! ... and, I will!"
Sorry, but that's so bad... it's like a Thundercats ending...

If anyone has never heard of Bill Simmons, he writes as The Sports Guy for espn.com. Not only did he once write an entire NFL (or was it NBA?) preview based entirely off quotes from Rounders, he had a column that featured Mol as one of the female characters who "almost ruined a fantastic movie." Right up there with Adrian...
