A message for CLEOPATRA 1963 dvd owners

Anyone who ownes the 1963 dvd of CLEOPATRA will notice that the entrance music for part two of the film starts at the end of disc one but the actual image for the second half is on disc two. This makes for a very sloppy "roadshow" presentation. Is anyone else unhappy with this and if so please let fox know about it.

It's a bit insignificant, isn't it? I mean, really.

The top reason for getting the 3-Disc set is the excellent feature-length documentary. I doubt I'll ever have the courage or the gusto to sit through the entire 2-disc-long film. Still....Like many things, it's nice to have because "you know it's there".

i didn't use the search function to go back the year or two to when this was released, but this was discovered back when the dvd was released, and... if i remember correctly, which i very well may not, i believe fox issued a replacement disc or something to that effect.

i remember returning my copy rather than going through the hassle of ordering the new disc.

or maybe it was a fiasco about the third disc coming in the small, thin, paper, scratchy sleeve.

all in all, there's a chance that fox has fixed it. there's also a chance that fox didn't.

so... to sum it up, i'll shut up now.

I've watched the movie(which was terrible IMO), but I really picked it up like many of us for the excellent documentary. I doubt I'll ever watch the movie again, but the documentary definitely makes an excellent additon to my library.

Dammit. I was just going to launch my "Cleopatra DVD Road Show" this week. Looks like I'll be sticking to mime and juggling.

A replacement disc was issued because early copies did not have the Exit music. This replacement disc had nothing to do with the misplacement of the Intermission music which is at the end of the first disc, instead of the beginning of the second disc. And no, DonnachaOne, it is not insignificant if you know anything about how roadshow films were presented.

If you have 4H5M to spare the movie isn't too bad if you only see it every 2 years. I bought it on opening day for $21.95, I just loved Liz Taylors looks in 1963 with purple eyes, glittering in eye liner, and eye shadow. This surely was not (Velvet) Liz Taylor with a heck of lot less makeup who debuted as a child in the made in 'color' "National Velvet'. After the movie wrapped she was pied, pies were smashed softly in the face for 'debuting'(t is silent) actress or actor at the time. Made in 'color' 7 years before Black and White "The Day The Earth Stood Still was made in 1951 or 10 years before the in 'color' and Cinemascope (Wide Screen) "The High and the Mighty" in 1954.

Oh come now! Of course the placement of intermission music is insignificant. Road show films were not presented on DVD's by the way. If you are such a purist, you should be watching film.
