Guesses for upcoming Superbits??

Anybody have any guesses on what the next couple batches of Superbit titles might be? Of course Spider-Man will be one but I'm sure they'll wait until Spider-Man 2 comes out.

How about The Devil's Own, Donnie Brasco, Easy Rider, The Big Blue, The Natural, Taxi Driver, U-Turn?

Just come suggestions. But I'm sure they'll give us some crap like Urban Legends 1 & 2 Superbits.

Please, all of them, please.

If you really want to make me happy, make them double features, with the dub cut versions on one disc, and the original Japanese on another.

Mike Nichols' Wolf and Carpenter's Christine would both be awesome candidates for the Superbit treatment, IMO.

Let's be rational about this... runners, it's only Columbia titles.

And it's usually (but not limited to) second-tier Columbia/Tristar action titles that could do with a sales boost, or an older release which is due for SE treatment (which they decide it won't get!)/redux. Stuff that could benefit from surround.

In the future, I reckon we'll see the following as Superbit.

Basic
Cliffhanger
Bad Boys II
Close Encounters Of The Third Kind
Double Team
Final Fantasy
First Knight
Ghostbusters
In The Line Of Fire
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
Once Upon A Time In China
The Replacement Killers
Darkness Falls

I think we'll see a couple from that list in the near future: though I think this kind of list is futile - we're always surprised by Superbit choices, and we always have issues with them...

Could Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Memento have Superbit releases? There are already releases out with both DD and DTS. Then again, I take that back. They put out a Superbit of The Mask of Zorro.

I'm noticing several parallels between my choices and Quinty's... perhaps it's more obvious than I thought.

The only thing CE3K has on it's movie disc that Superbit doesn't is motion menus. It already has DD and DTS, it's practically a SB anyways.

Well, not quite. Superbit movies generally yield some extra detail because the typical filtering process that takes place on most movies is not applied to the same degree with Superbits.

The Bridge on the River Kwai is a likely one. The current DVD is fantastic, but I wouldn't be surprised if Columbia did a Superbit.

I wouldn't doubt Gigli getting a Supebit release. Columbia/Tri Star probally aren't gonna put in extras on it (except maybe the J.Lo video) & they could price it a few bucks higher if they call it a Superbit instead of just a Bare Bones release (like they did with Panic Room)

The Superbit name is owned by Columbia Tristar.
