i've never lost a DVD, i'm very careful with them and i NEVER loan them, i got sick in the past whenever i would loan a friend a music CD, it was always returned: with a broken case, scratched, dust, fingerprints, etc.

when i started with DVDs i said to myself that i would never loan one to anbody.

maybe the dvd got sick and tired of living next to soiled condoms in that dump. forced to flee is a sad way for a dvd to go. maybe he found a better home?

I went to watch Cruel Intentions (my first DVD and one of my favorite movies) and the disc was not in the case. I can't imagine how I could have put it away anywhere else, so apparently someone decided to "borrow" it without having it appear to be gone. I got worried and checked inside my other DVDs but they were all there. So you could be missing stuff and not even know it.

Don't even joke about that.

Not so much if you're sporting wheelchair.

I'm pretty much sure you'll find your Old School DVD up on 5th, turning tricks for nickels. Its pimp, Animal House, decked out in the sweetest fedora you ever did see, can be seen repeatedly beating it about the face... Did I see Old School recently? Yeah, I did. It's sad, man, really sad.

I have yet to lose a DVD, but I have lost several CDs on occasion. For some reason, I always lose my Doors CDs. I had the two-disc best-of from several years ago, lost it, replaced it with the import version, then lost that one. I eventually found that one. The other... who knows?

I once lost CLERKS, but it turned up. It got sideways in the shelf and slipped behind some other DVDs.

It may sound weird but have you checked your laundry? It could've found it's way in the dirty hamper(pile). Or maybe it was gathered up with folded(rumpled) clean clothes.

Is this another Danol thread?

A freind of mine is not missing several titles... Most of them are crap (IMHO) and I wouldn't even want to watch them- but he keeps asking/half accusing me of taking them! What really bugs him, though, is that a couple of the titles -- the 1-2 good ones that is -- I've since bought used from Ebay, and he's sure they're his now.
I keep trying to convince him that his four year old throws them away or something. They are easily within reach.
Anyway, I think it's funny

I also wish I had it, but I never had it to begin with

I haven't lost a DVD but last week I lost my pocket knife again. Lost an identical one awhile back, replaced it, now lost it again. I don't have a clue how I could have lost it but it's gone.

Never one of my regular titles. A couple of my porn ones seem to have disappeared though.

this thread is begging for an intervention! you make it sound like you lost your wedding ring. It's not even out of print. If you're that freaked out about it just buy another one. You say pretty much only one person ever borrows them, yet you make a checkout system now?

Never lost a DVD yet but have had a few CDs disappear and never to be seen from again. Just find a copy used somewhere. I've seen a few of those already at the pawn shop.

I once let my mailman borrow my import copy of "Iron Monkey" I thought he never returned it and I was a tad annoyed, thankfully I found it one day nestled among all my CDs and DVD's (Thank god I did not accuse him of stealing the DVD - cause he's really a nice guy).

I lost 2 DVDs in a move. I lost "Friday" and "Candyman". I can't stand to lose something. Especially a DVD.

Did you check "S" for school?
Did you check "S' For scatterbrained to have left it where someone could (S)wipe it? LOL

I am constantly losing DVDs without lending them out...
I just figured it was one of those things like socks where they go to an alternate universe where only Ren and Stimpy are allowed...

many of you seem to be the kind of folk to avoid...and not let borrow anything! it's a perfect example of why lending-out is a bad idea. members of a dvd forum cant even keep track of their own dvds!!
