brief audio dropout on alias and a question on subtitles?

this dropout occurs in the fourth episode durring Syd's fight with Anna. It just goes siltent for about a second. Its the samsung dvd/vcr player and a sony home theater in a box. There also seems to be slight harshness/distortion in voices durring this episode as well.

Are there supposed to be subtitles when a character speaks a forgien language? I know the show post reboot and on, does have subtitles for foreign speakers, but there aren't any in any of the episodes that I've seen so far and was wondering if there should be any?

btw, great show, highly addicting. This also helped me understand the series currently.

Rypro 525,
I just tested my copy on a Samsung V-2000 DVD/VCR combo and i didn't hear any audio dropout. You are talking about the fight between Anna and Syd in the church, right? Do you have a timecode of when you get the dropout?

I did a search, and couldn't find anything, so I'm gonna post this question here: Is anyone have problem with skipping in the audio on the fifth disc? I noticed throughout both of the first two episodes (I haven't had a chance to finish the disc yet, so it may be present in all of the episodes.)

The one place I definitely remember hearing the skips were at the beginning of "The Prophecy" as
Spoiler:
the hearings are about to take place re: what to do with Sydney.
It's most evident at the beginning of the scene as the camera enters the room.

I'm gonna check on another player tonight, but I just wanted to put this out there for the time being. THanks in advance.
