Why are the best dvd always snappers?

I hate snappers but all the best dvds have snapper cases like Matrix,Training Day,Natural Born Killers,Blade. Why is this so?

get the uncut unrated version of natural born killers anyway. It's got over at least 120 shots that were cut from the r rated version (and its in a keepcase)

They aren't. It just sucks that lots of good movies are in snappers.

Repackage?

I haven't tried it but I was thinking of separating the cardboard cover from the plastic DVD holder (flip up the bottom and top flaps on the reserse side of the DVD case), carefully pry and unfold the cover apart (since it's one piece that's folded and glued), trim it and instert it in a keepsake case. The inside of the cover (once separated) can be used as an insert.

I also have a lot of dvd's from WB and some snappers from New Line. I hate sanppers! I went to dvdcoverart.com and got myself some scans and custom covers for my dvd's and replaced the snappers with amarays....Now I don't have single snapper in my collection. I also converted all my dvd's in double alpha cases into amaray slim double cases. Saves me a lot of shelf space.
Check out the website they got really cool custom cover art.

Snappers do suck, especially the ones that try and squeeze in two discs, ala JFK.

Yeah, really. Was this a record? Just over a week since this last type of thread?

Maybe this should be in the Cases and Covers subforum...

I guess I'm not shopping at the right stores..... Citizen Kane, Singin' In The Rain, Close Encounters, Lawrence of Arabia, On The Waterfront, Das Boot, Gladiator, Chicago, Hitchcock titles, Criterion titles, etc. etc. - I can't find any of these in snappers!

If we're starting out with a list that includes Training Day and Blade (both are movies I own and enjoy, by the way), why not? I realize it's still fashionable to dump on Gladiator, and Chicago has an outstanding commentary that is one of the best I've heard.

I know I was just kidding with ya....the DVD's may look great, but the movies were just not good in my opinion. Which is ok, we all have opinions. I was able to watch ALL of gladiator, but my GF and I actually turned off Chicago...just seemed BORING

I believe I read somewhere that WB owns the company that makes the snappers.

If that's true we are probably going to have the snapper with us for a while to come.

WB knows damn well that keep cases are wanted. It's just that there are millions of discs out there already in snappers...

They're probably switching to them in the near future (T-3 and Matrix 2 are in keep cases), but that leaves a gazillion titles in snappers on shelves.

WB's discs are usually a bargain and the case, IMO, is worth it. $14.99 for a special edition like North By Northwest is worth it.
