Okay! I got lucky and bought the Millennium version for a little less than $20 at Half.com, so my quest is over. Thanks for the warnings about the 30th Anniversary edition...whew! That was too close as I had almost placed a bid on eBay for one of those! Yikes!

You done the right thing and you won't be dissapointed. The Millienium version of the film is top-notch, come to think of it, any of Elite's Millienium edition disc's are great (Re-Animator and I Spit On Your Grave pop to mind).

Is the transfer on the ME a massive difference over the first Elite edition? I'm not a huge fan and I'd rather not have to upgrade as I thought the first transfer was very good.
Also, with the Dawn of the Dead remake coming, maybe we should go over all the Dead films and then sticky this for awhile?

i've been hearing for the loooooongest time that the ME of NOTLD was going OOP (over a year now?). guess supplies are "limited" so ya better hurry before they get you, barbara!

The Digital Bits claims that the video on the ME edition is the same as the one used in the first Elite edition. They did, however, add a DD 5.1 track and a few extras that were only on their laserdisc release.

The description makes it sound like it's the Elite edition that came out before the ME edition. The one that doesn't have the 5.1 sound, the Duane Jones interview, or the stuff about "Vanilla".

Looks like the same group that handled the newly released Reefer Madness in color. The only good thing I see from this is a Mike Nelson commentary

According to their site the disc's release will come this Halloween and include a restored black & white print and a new "colorized" version of the '68 classic that, in its original incarnation, still managed to shock audiences back in the day despite its lack of color.
Mystery Science Theater 3000's Mike Nelson lends an audio commentary to Off Color's presentation as well as a how-to guide to concocting and drinking numerous "zombies." Cute.

According to VIDEO STORE MAGAZINE (a magazine specifically for people working in the video store business and/or video production/marketing), the Millennium edition is still in no danger of going out of print. The company just paid for a huge full-page ad of it listing it as available for order! Good news for all whom haven't picked it up yet!
