The Fugitive(60's) and Mission Impossible(60's)?

Any chance that these are coming out on DVD?Running commentary tracks by Ltd. Gerard would be a must on the Fugitive.I remember E running the Fugitive years ago and since except for TVLand running a marathon hasn't been seen since.Plenty of cast members of Mission Impossible would make for nice running ciommentary tracks.

I don't have an interest in "M:I", but "The Fugitive" (1963-1967)...oh my, YES indeedy! 120 episodes of the Great Chase.

And, yes, I agree, some commentaries from Barry Morse (Lt. Philip Gerard) would be ideal. (Barry's 85 now.) Toss in some commentary by Suzanne Pleshette in her two fabulous episodes in which she guest-starred, and Kurt Russell (2 episodes), and it'd be quite a package.

The Fuge (and its top-notch musical score/cues) has been on the top of my Wish List for a while. Hopefully, along with "The Andy Griffith Show" (First 4 Seasons), it'll come to fruition.

I would love to get the Mission Impossible (60) on dvd. I've been asking this same question or years and no answer so far. Anyone else heard anything as of yet?

A soundtrack CD of Pete Rugulo's TV music from "The Fugitive" is already available on CD from Silva Screen Records. I don't think it's the original tapes from the '60s, but a modern recording using Rugulo's score. The music SOUNDS authentic enough (i.e. I don't think there was any re-orchestration).

Yes, the theme is on there, too.

There are several places to buy it online. I ordered it from buysoundtrax.com (where I also picked up the score to "The Martian Chronicles").

Yes, I bought that when it first came out. Excellent indeed.

My previous comment was based upon looking forward to the music (and accompanying video--in "Glorious Black-&-White"!) being available some decade on DVD in the form of .............

"THE FUGITIVE -- A QUINN MARTIN PRODUCTION -- THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON -- STARRING DAVID JANSSEN AS THE FUGITIVE"

[william_conrad] Tonight's episode ... "Fear In A Desert City" ... with tonight's guest stars: Brian Keith ... Vera Miles."[/william_conrad]

(A great debut episode for this class-act of a series [September 1963]! Brian Keith is such a bastard in the premiere! You really feel like bashing his skull in on Richard Kimble's behalf.)

"The law says he's guilty .... And I'm merely an instrument of the law." -- Philip Gerard (Stafford [IN.] Police Department)

When was the last time that The Fugitive was shown un-edited?Many a time on E it would say at the beginning also starring Lt. Gerard only to have him edited out.

In most of these cases, Gerard's appearances were NOT edited out of the episode. He was never in them to begin with.

Morse/Gerard ALWAYS got a verbal credit at the beginning of EVERY episode, whether he physically appeared or not.

Morse WAS (technically) SEEN in each episode, because he was in the train wreck opening-title sequence each week.

Barry Morse appeared in a surprisingly-low total of 38 (of 120) Fugitive episodes during the series' run. (Seemed like he was in more, huh? But, many times, his presence is felt, but only when someone is supposedly talking to him over the phone.)

I had a chance several years ago to buy a bunch of "The Fugitive" episodes on Laserdisc, but I didn't. I regret that now.

Diane Baker could be another person on the commentary tracks-not sure how many episodes she appeared in.Let's not forget Mission Impossible with possible commentary tracks w/Martin Landau,Peter Graves,Leonard Nimoy and Leslie Ann Warren.
