Best packaging out of the ones I own:
Black Hawk Down: DE
Band of Brothers
Futurama
Family Guy
Moulin Rouge
Pearl Harbor: DC
Dune: DC
FoTR: EE

Close Encounters is alright, but nothing special...same with the Harry Potter releases. I'll try to think of more.

That would be my choice as well. Brilliantly conceived and executed.

The problem with the BTTF package is that the out sleeve slides from the top down, instead of going on sideways like most sleeves do. The inner package is alright, but the sleeve isn't very good.

Oh man, I can't believe two things:

#1 - That I completely forgot about The Book of the Dead.

#2 - That no one else came up with that one!

I haven't seen the Leather case for the R2 Dances with Wolves that came out today, but I bet it would have to be up there with some of the best.

The Coffin Joe Trilogy - comes in a rather large coffin and includes comics as wellas the DVDs.

IRON MAIDEN - ROCK IN RIO comes in a cool slipcover and the gatefold pops up when opened. It's the only pop-up cover I know of.

The Good:

1. Fushigi Yugi box sets (really nice artwork and design)
2. LOTR: FOTR EE set

The Bad:
1. T2 Extreme Edition - A nice idea, but very poorly implemented to preserve quality of the case. T2 Ultimate Edition metal case was a lot better done.
2. WB snapper cases
3. older Simitar cases where the small CD cases would fall out from the bottom of the DVD case sized cover.
4. Jin-Roh Special Edition case. It was nice looking and a good idea, but it's design lead it to get frayed around the edges even before I had it shipped to me.

Many of these I like for their design, but it would have been nice to have had them a bit shorter so they fit in my DVD racks better.
1. Akira limited edition
2. Six Feet Under Season 1
3. Repo Man Ltd Edition
4. Band of Brothers
5. Escaflowne movie special edition
6. Star Trek TNG box sets (they just fit into the bookshelf, but I'm scraping them doing so. The newer Deep Space 9 sets work a lot better.
