DVD Discoveries Undiscovered

Even though it hasn't been long enough to warrant panic on my part, I recently took DVD Angle up on their "Exclusive Offer to DVD Talkers for DVD Discoveries at Only $3.95" sale, and was curious if anyone else had, and if they'd received their copies yet. I ordered mine on 8/7, and since it is supposedly sent First Class mail, I expected to have the title by now. Nothing I an find on the purchase link from DVD Talk, nor the home website of DVD Angle, features any details on approximate shipping times, so I'm curious as to when I should really get nervous if I haven't yet received the disc...thanks for any insights...

Haven't gotten mine either and I ordered on 8/4. Not sure what is taking so long. I assumed the DVD was already done and ready to ship. Since it was a DVD Talk promotion I would hope Geoff could look into it and see what happened.

I ordered it back when it originally came out, and I had to wait a long time to get it. After I e-mailed DVD Angle, they finally sent it.

So it looks like they are quick to charge you and slow to ship the DVD. Very Nice.

Charged my credit card on 8/4 and nothing. After the credit card process it said I would receive an email receipt but I never got one. Did anyone get an email receipt?

Ad me to the club that ordered it on 8/4 (popular date!) and haven't received it yet.

Also ordered on 8/4 and haven't received anything but the Paypal receipt. I too am not expecting much from this disc, but for $5.95 (with shipping) I figured what the hell. Even though my expectations may not be high, I would like to actually receive it.

Same as everyone else here: Got the PayPal receipt, my credit card was charged, and I have yet to receive the disc.

I ordered long ago, direct from DVDAngle. The reports of slow shipping are pretty familiar - the whole effort (over 10 months, now) has been slowed down by shipping problems. There's a decent forum on HTF on this matter, for those who are interested.

I found it all very forgivable, as this is the first DVD that DVDAngle has produced, and they are learning as they go. Paul Russell, who's in charge of the Angle, has been very responsive to problems and concerns, both on the HTF forums and on DVDAngle. While I would wait 4 weeks or so before contacting him - because they are not in the business of shipping DVDs - I'm certain he'd be glad to address any concerns from this board.

Finally, I wanted to mention that those who bought from DVD Talk got an incredible bargain - DVD Discoveries is a great collection, interesting, informative, and provocative. It's a great DVD to have when I want to watch something for 20 minutes, but not much longer.

I'm sure the slow shipping is frustrating to many of you, but it seems to be the way of things. I'll have no problem ordering from them again, when Volume 2 comes together.

I'm glad to hear that so many of you took advantage of this great offer - I think you'll find DVD Discoveries a worthwhile experience, and perhaps start demanding more DVD sites start constructing similar products for fundraising.

Weele axulinde.

Hi everyone - it's Paul Russell from DVD Angle here. I wanted to let everyone know what's going on. No, we haven't forgotten about all the orders from everyone at DVD Talk. The response to our special price was amazing, and for that I thank you!

After many follow-ups with our fulfillment house I finally learned there was, yet another, massive screw up on their part (I could get into a longwinded explanation, but in the end, the buck stops at the top so I'll accept the blame). We are now taking over fulfillment ourselves and will be mailing out each and every order over the next two days.

Rest assured, you will get your order. I'm extremely sorry about this unacceptable delay. We'll get everything corrected ASAP. Should you have any questions, please feel free to email me directly at [email protected].

Regards,

Paul Russell

Thanks for the personal response Paul. I sometimes get a little worried because I've been burned by DVD Preview, Inside DVD, and Tromaville to name a few.

Thanks for putting my mind at rest. Its a great deal and looks to be a great DVD. I'm looking forward to getting it.
