But you could pick it up then next week go in with the ad get your difference plus 10% back! So it's a better deal.

I also picked up this title at my local Best Buy for $19.99

Supposedly two or three lines of dialogue are taken from an alternate dub track. Something tells me that this isn't exactly a major enough problem to warrant a remastering, so I'm grabbing it now.

So, for all you people who scored this early, how does it sound?

My local BB put out pretty much all of the 8/12 discs on 8/7, and then pulled them off the shelves again until the release date. I think someone squealed on them, so I don't expect many more to slip through

I can wait!

I made the mistake of ordering mine from DVDsoon (with the July free shipping it came out to around $15.50).

I'm tempted to get it next week at Target and then trade/sell my DVDsoon copy when it gets here in November.

Watched this last night... Here's my take.

1) The audio/dialogue problem... Didn't even notice it. Granted, I've only seen the film like 5 or 6 times - including it's initial theater run - so perhaps I'm not as qualified as the guy that eats, sleep and breathes this flick... But, I noticed nothing out of the ordinary.

2) The packaging sucks but what are ya gonna do. The insert, on the other hand, is pretty damn_cool.

3) The transfer is terrific. Day has never looked anywhere near this good. Even the super dark and grainy shots have been cleaned up very well. You're going to be impressed.

4) I listened to the DTS-ES track and did an A/B against the DD-EX track. The DTS track is better, more depth. However, it's not going to blow you away. It's a good, clean, effective track. You might want to jack up your center channel dbs.

5) The extras are anamorphic. At least the trailers and the first documentary are... I didn't have time to get to the rest. Very cool.

In closing... Big to AB on this one.

Um, what exactly is the packaging like? Sorry if someone already asked.

Please don't tell me that it's like the Hulk and AoD: Boomstick editions....

From the pictures of the packaging I've seen online, it looks like a tri-fold digipak case, with the "Bub the Zombie" on the front being a die-cut that velcros to the back of the third flap of the case.

You'll love it Gut... Viddy well...

Packaging details - What Josh said. A slimline digipak with a velcro bub flab that wraps around. It's interesting, but I would be a little concerned about the velcro thingie lasting over time if you spin this set frequently.

Glad to hear that the audio problem isn't a glaring problem.

I have to play the waiting game and see how much it will be in Canada when its officially released, before I pick it up.

One of the better purchases . I was somewhat worried about the audio "problem", but it was not that big of an issue. As for the extra's, honestly I don't usually watch extra's, but I love 'Day of the Dead' (it's my very 'Dead' film) , so I gave the extra's a shot and let me say, I'm very impressed with them, espically the first documentry called 'The many days of Day of the Dead'. It's extremely detailed and interesting.

The downsides? I don't much care for the velcro idea for packaging.

Picked up "Day," then went over to FYE, where they had put out the MGM horror titles schedueled for August 26th, and picked up the "Poltergeist" sequels (III is awful, but I kinda liked II).

floored by the transfer...thought it looked super. I've never seen the film look so good!! yeah...I think my velcro snap is already going belly-up. despite the few and minor audio issues...this dvd rocks!

FINALLY got it! After going to the Best Buy in Annapolis and not finding it I went to the one in Glen Burnie and found it! Love the packaging. Haven't seen this movie in at least 12 years.

Should be getting mine very soon and can't wait!!..with regard the audio issue i am not a 'purist' when it comes to this title so was never going to be an issue with me so long as the video quality was up to par which seemingly it is.
