Before everyone gets excited: look who is releasing these films. It's Pacific Family Entertainment, the bootlegging outfit behind the abominable pirated release of The Final Countdown. I wouldn't get my hopes up for these discs.

And the thing is - people are afraid that the company will put out a crappy disc, based on their previous reputation. I've not seen anything they've released before so I cant judge - HOWever, anything will be a step in the right direction for this film. If you were lucky enough to find it on tape, you'll pay 20-30 bucks for a worn out crappy looking film. The LD isnt that much better and you'll pay dearly for the privlage.
All I ask is that it's slightly better than VHS and is reasonably priced (in the 10-15 buck range). Anything above and beyond that - extras, trailers, commentary - is pure gravy.

MAZES and MONSTERS has that whole finale inside the WTC and atop it. Glad to see all of these titles getting released, even if they are gonna be fly by night discs.

how did this small company end up with the Monster Squad? I'm sure it wasn't that expensive to aquire the rights for the film, so its too bad that Artisan or Anchor bay couldn't do a dvd of it.

So do we have any proof that they do/do not have the rights to Monster Squad/Kiss/Final Countdown? I checked out that HTF.com thread and all I saw was a lynch mob of people saying "Yeah! Theres NO way these guys have the rights!"
Until I see something to back up the claims, I wont write off these releases yet.
