Whats up with this release? It's supposed to come out on Tuesday but I haven't heard anything about it. I was really looking for this.

I was JUST wondernig htat, because amazon, bestbuy, fye, NONE of those websites show it in their systems at all.

I think that the company that was releasing the dvd were being threatened with lawsuits because they didn't own the rights to the film.

Artisan *did* own the rights but only *recently* did those rights expire so they no longer have it (I've confirmed this myself directly from the company.)

So I have no idea which studio has it now. I'll keep looking into it.

I have no clue about which company released it, but there are copies (all seem to be P/S) floating around a certain online auction site (I'm not ganna name it because of the release probally not being legit)

Criterion bought the rights and will be releasing a 3-disc version, just like Brazil, early 2004.

Nope...I would check the value section at Best Buy, but I doubt you'll find it however. I have not heard about anyone picking this up anywhere...

The last thing I read was that the company that was going to produce it (Pacific something), along with Night of the Comet, didn't actually have the rights to it. They did the same thing a year or so back when they released a god awful version of Final Countdown. This is talked about in more detail in a thread about Night of the Comet I believe.

Unfortunately, I don't think we will be seeing this anytime soon. :(

Yeah, I know someone who says they got one off Ebay and its pure crap. VHS quality, if that.

This may be just a rumor, but someone over at DVDfile was posting that a company is interested in working on the Monster Squad DVD so maybe there is some hope. The thread is here
