You really like that? Thats a terrible cover. Very homemade looking. Also Rogue alone on the cover is a confusing choice.

I remember "Deathstrike" was at least used in the "cast of characters" trailer (tv spot?).

Anna Paquin = :drool::up:
That Cover Overall = :yack:

Cartload 08-08-03 07:54 AM

Well, I made a suggestion at the HTF that it might have been cool if they made a bunch of different cover arts using the various single character posters that were used to promote the movies. And for obvious reasons, I like that Anna Paquin poster, heh heh... Also, it was just a rush job someone did for a joke. C'mon people...

Region 2 cover is 100x better.

ckolchak 08-09-03 03:03 PM

i would like to have seen them just use the teaser art.
graphically, every other ad-mat design they came up with looked amateurish to me.

It was only called X-Men United in the damn trailers, so I wish it wasn't on the cover.

I'll get this eventually, but I really enjoyed the Singer commentary on the borrowed copy of 1.5 I listened too... so I'll hold out for another edition.. for a while.

plus, this one looks a lot like the original cover (not too much, but more along the lines). I was too cheap to buy the 1.5 edition when i have a perfectly fine copy that just happened to be my first dvd ever, so i wasn't going to double dip.

The Bus 08-10-03 06:02 AM

Why is Wolverine on the cover? No one likes him.

 Uh-huh...

I'll pick this up along with X-Men 1.5 since I don't have that already. I guess I'll sell the first set.

DRG 08-10-03 11:59 AM

The old guys on the fullscreen cover don't even look like they're from the same photo shoot, let alone in the same picture.

Cartload 08-10-03 08:26 PM

ckolchak has proven once again he should have a job designing DVD covers. That artwork is plain classy. Much better than the photoshopped people.

I like when they do this, anything that makes Widescreen stand out clearly from FF is a good thing.

i wouldnt care. i always check and never buy the wrong one. let idiots who cant read mess up.

Cartload 08-11-03 10:04 AM

I think a lot of times, the buyers are those who don't peruse boards like these or any of the DVD websites out there. They have no idea there are two versions of the movie and simply grab the first one off the shelf, only later to discover they have the widescreen or P&S version they didn't want.

On the other hand, I am aware of dual releases and always check to make sure which one I'm getting, so I don't want a large banner proclaiming widescreen or fullscreen taking up a large percentage of the cover art.

DrMcKittrick 08-11-03 01:10 PM

when is this coming out again??

HELLO? How am I supposed to know that Halle Berry is in this movie with the plain cover? The insert better have some big heads on it.

lisadoris 08-11-03 04:44 PM

I too wish they would use the teaser art for the DVD but then again, they don't ask for my opinion.

dknight04 08-12-03 08:02 AM

Some nice pics there but has a release day been confirmed? I heard it is scheduled for November but that is for region 2 release.

Moppy007 08-12-03 08:34 AM

The only official confirmation I'm aware of so far is the Australian region 4 DVD locked in for October 29. I believe the Japanese region 2 is set for mid-September, while the European region 2 is now due early November. No word on the US region 1 set yet, but rumours abound that there'll be an announcement in the next week or so...
