Are you sure..?
I mean, I realize it's a Korean etailer, but it states that it's all region...and according to your list above, that's the Tartan uncut version..

rogue.....this is the Korean release....take a good look at it!!! (completely different covers) NTSC!!
http://www.dvdasian.com/cgi-bin/dvda...l?mv_arg=15604
...AND THIS IS THE BRITISH PAL version I have!!!
http://www.xploitedcinema.com/dvds/d...itle=953<br />
****
Note to you.....many Korean releases are coded 0, though being from the R3 market (and are NTSC). The British version is also encoded 0 however it is PAL, and you need a Malata or Cyberhome or whatever....to view it properly!!!
***
To make this as clear as possible so that there are no more "are you sure questions" here are the remaining versions that are worth knowing (I am not trying to be cocky...simply realize that people are way too confused with all the different versions).:
French (Double version with I STAND ALONE) coffret:
http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/tg/...#more-pictures
French Single version:
http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/tg/...#more-pictures
Dutch version (DTS) (Benelux area)

Italian version:

Region 1 (US) version:
http://www.dvdempire.com/Exec/v4_ite...d=538017&tab=5
****
The American and Korean versions are all NTSC....the rest are all PAL formated!!
Extras (commentaries and so on) as of today are available only on the French, Dutch, and Korean releases WITHOUT English subs.
****
Reviews of all the existing versions here (without the Italian):

Hope this would clear once and for all what is what!!

I noticed the different covers, but I was using your "for the "umpteenth" time!!!" list as a point of reference.
I realize the differences that you've pointed out ["umpteenth" times
], but I was just judging it by the covers pictured [which say region ALL or 0].
Like I said though, it's a moot point since KoreanDVDs are sold out..
Thanks for the replies though..
edit: Ah. Thanks for the clairfying edit. If only I DIDN'T have a region-free DVD player, this would ALL be so easier...

with a superfast deliverry!!
Great store!!!
edit:
all you do is put the Korean release in your player and .....VOILA....no need of region-free player as the dvd is region 0 and NTSC!!!!
What's the problem.....I am not sure!!

Also...according to your list the Korean version is "digitally blurred"...so i'll just wait until the price drops on the r1 or the Tartan version...[which is the only reason I was contemplating the Korean version...]

I quickly browsed through most of this thread and don't think it has been posted - forgive me if it has.
Lions Gate has made the Making of the Special Effects featurette available for download at the movie's website.
There is also a DVD trade-in offer.

Amazingly enough, the imdb forums. Someone mentioned that Lions Gate would soon be putting the making of on the website, but didn't say when, so I just looked to see if it had been put up, which it had.
I actually downloaded both the Quicktime and the Windows Media files - they are both right around 70 MB, but very good quality. It's also a very interesting featurette about the special effects shots.

What's the replacement for? Is there a defect on the disc, or did they actually put the extras that were supposed to be on the disc in the first place back on it?
Also, if we haven't purchased the disc yet, how can we tell if we got one of the discs that has the featurette on it, since the one that's missing it lists it on the back of the case as well?

As far as I know, the replacement only puts the making of the special effects featurette back on. Also, I haven't heard anything about them replacing the discs in-store, but that may happen later on.

Yes, I read this on the IMDB forum. I went to their page at http://www.irreversiblethemovie.com/ and am downloading it. This is an amazing movie, but I don't think I will put up with the replacement disc stuff. I still hope they still will put a transcript of the commentary online.

That was the main reason I didn't pick up the movie. I was so excited when I read the specs months ago and commentary was listed. Maybe (hopefully) they're saving it for a special edition later down the line ... I haven't heard any other explanation, and I don't know if they ever even recorded it.

I also wanted to add that I finished my download. The video quality is pretty good and includes the same subtitle style - yellow font. It is about 7:13 minutes long.
Edit: I watched the WMV video and was a bit disappointed with some subtitles being a bit messy, so I downloaded the quicktime one to compare - the QT video seems to have much clearer subtitles so I would recommend that one.
PS - the video, like the movie include graphic content. Please respect the agreement before downloading.

Yeah - I really don't think I'll bother with the replacement. I've converted the file into an SVCD and I'll just stick that in the case in addition to keeping the files on my computer.
