Hi, Chris, great to have you here. I have a question regarding internship opportunities at Troma. I sent several e-mails inquiring about internships to the e-mail on the website last year, but did not get a response. Is this because there are no opportunities at the moment, or did my e-mails just get lost in the shuffle? If the latter is the case, I'd love to know about any opportunities out there. Thanks!
|
Chances are your e-mail slipped through the cracks--my apologies for that. Anywho... unpaid internships are always available for students and recent grads who wish to work in an energetic and challenging environment. This is your chance to learn about the film business and even work along side Lloyd Kaufman! You can email Maria Insua at [email protected] for more information.
Remember, Toxie Loves You! |
Hey Chris,
Welcome to the board! Only I have to pester you about (at least for now) is Troma's Edge TV. I heard there was a rumored for 2004. Would love to see the complete set on DVD. Great job on the Citizen Toxie & Terror Firmer DVDs! |
Thanks for the welcome! Everyone seems very nice here...
We are considering releasing more of Troma's Edge TV on DVD, perhaps for next year. I'll definitely let you all know when we know more for sure....the release slate for next year is still being planned out. Our upcoming releases for the rest of the year are available at Troma Team Video. Glad you enjoy the DVDs! :D |
I pop in at the Troma message board from time to time for the last 3 or 4 years. I'm Citizen Toxie there.
I met Lloyd at last years Tromapaloza in Cleveland. Nice guy. Even when pressed for time he didn't refuse an autograph. |
Welcome Chris,
Sorry if I missed this elsewhere, but can you tell me if the Roan Anthony Mann titles will be available from Troma again? |
To add to Navin's question, what are Troma's current plans for Roan? Are more titles planned? How can I buy titles that aren't listed in the Troma mall (the new ones like Borderline, not the out of print ones like Rain).
What's going on with Carry Roan? Is he still involved in the process in any way? Any input would be very helpful, as I'm an avid Roan collector. Thanks Chris. |

Welcome!
I've noticed that LLoyd is supposed to be at DragonCon this year. Is he bringing the whole Troma Zoo? The Troma booth is always a favorite of mine. Any specials planned for the Con? Thanks F |

Will Troma DVDs ever be available from Columbia House?
|
I've always wanted to tell someone from Troma my opinion of the company. Your films are so politically incorrect, they are immoral, twisted, tasteless, gross, nihilistic, and just plain sick. Which is why i love every damn film you guys have done, Please don't stop. I just discovered Troma thanks to dvdtalk's own G Noel Gross. Love the toxie films.
Are there going to be any new T.I.Ts on any upcoming troma discs. Love the few that i've seen and taken, great extra by the way. jason |
Any chance Troma will get around to re-releasing Graduation Day in widescreen, with the original trailer? The current disc is full frame and only has trailers for other Troma flicks.

Just got some more Troma lovin in the mail today. Damn you guys are getting quick. Ordered from halftroma (on half.com) on 07/31, got my movies today 08/04. Did Lloyd toss you guys an extra cheese sandwich last week?
Tell the order processing person/team to keep up the good work. I watched "Superstarlet A.D.". Interesting flick, not quite sure how I feel about it though. I'll have to give it another viewing. Definantly high marks on the T&A! |

Hmmm, Chris, you've been very responsive to everybody so far but me, so I have to wonder, did you miss my question above? -confused-
I really dig the Roan dvds and would like to know what's going on with the line, so if you could shed some light on that, or if you could look into it and find something out for me, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks! :) |

Thanks! :) The reason I haven't responded to your question regarding the Roan Group titles is because I don't know. I have very little to do with Troma Team Video other than maintaining the website, but I have asked about it and expect to hear back on that issue soon. As soon as I know, I promise I'll let everyone in on it. ;) Sorry for the confusion! I'm not avoiding you, honest! :o |
Awesome Chris, I appreciate it. I kinda figured that might be the case. I can't wait to hear what you may find out.
Thanks again. :) |
From some of the comments here I'm going to assume that the mail order division has improved. I swore I'd never order from Troma after the two month wait and over 20 e-mails it took to get an order. (This was not the .25 ordeal). If there is a new staff doing the work I MAY order again, but I must admit I'm still somewhat upset over my last experience.

But I can honestly say that now our customer service is in what I like to call a 'happy place'. We have a crack team of people making sure that orders are handled as best they can. :) Check our feedback on half.com: http://cgi2.half.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBa...erid=halftroma Hopefully this helps. :) |

Originally posted by Chris Lanphear We get frequent input (and some complaints) from fans regarding our shipping prices. What it comes down to is this: Troma Entertainment is an incredibly small company. The $8.00 shipping charge for the first item is a requirement for us, and covers not only shipping but materials and the Tromite laborors who pack the items. Believe me, just for piece of mind I wish we could afford to charge less than we do, but we can't. Luckily, the shipping charge does end up being worth its weight in Tromatic deals. Check out this comparison of some of our most popular titles: From the Troma Chopping Maul: Chopper Chicks in Zombietown [DVD] $6.99 Surf Nazis Must Die: [Unrated Director’s Cut DVD] $6.99 Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD [Unrated Director’s Cut DVD] $8.99 THE TOX BOX [DVD] $25.00 Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV [Unrated 2 Disc Director’s Cut DVD] $19.99 Cannibal! The Musical [DVD] $6.99 Tromeo & Juliet [Unrated Director’s Cut DVD] $8.99 Squeeze Play [DVD] $6.99 Total: $90.93, plus $23.00 shipping and handling Same movies, buying directly from Amazon: $188.70, plus $10.90 shipping and handling. And you don't get a Troma binder. Or other free goodies we throw in for people who support Troma by buying so many things directly from us. Plus, if you were to buy the TOX BOX now, you'd also get two select DVDs free. Find any retailer that can come close to even matching that! :D snip ... Let me push back on this shipping and handling issue. Being a small company has a minimal impact on shipping and handling as small and large companies use third-party carriers and handling is labor intensive work where being large does not help. If you can't keep one shipper/receiver busy than have them do other work and only have them be a shipper part time. Domestic media mail? $2.00 Package, packing material, and labels/ink $1.00 or less per shipment. That leaves $5.00 for labor. Assuming that a shipper can fulfill only five orders per hour - that would mean that you are paying that laborer $25.00 per hour (including benefits etc.). This includes time for stock replacement, receiving, any order returns etc. I doubt it. Therefore, what you are doing is turning shipping and handling into a profit center. I think it is one thing to make money on your products and quite another for you to make money on S&H - something that should be done at cost. My guess is that if you lowered the S&H you might find a corresponding increase in sales. Either way, you won't have bitter consumers thinking that they were taken advantage of. For your consideration, ctyankee |

Tell you what, Chris - I only live two blocks from Troma, with a post office located between us. Bet I could process orders for lower cost. |
