OMG!! My set just came in today's mail!
I didn't think it would get here that fast. I hoped it would, but I didn't think I'd get it until early next week. This is so perfect, just in time for a weekend marathon!

I hope you get it soon.I just finished watching disc 2. I'm planning to watch disc 3 tomorrow. I've only seen the show in syndication, so it's great to finally see the episodes uncut.

I hope this set sells well, so they'll release seasons 2 and 3.

Speaking of uncut - I'm wondering if those 1 to 2 minute final scenes were cropped off for syndication? Some of the material is familiar, but some isn't. I may be remembering them from the original airings, back in the '70s, but I would swear they were missing in syndication.

That show was great -- and they weren't shy about Home Correction either. I remember an episode where Roger breaks down in front of his mother and apologizes for something bad he did, and his mother escorted him to the back room and you knew he was gonna get beaten just the same, despite the confession.
Great realism for the way kids were raised at certain points.

As a hardcore fan for many years (I taped virtually every episode on TV when I was a young lad and still watch them to this day), I can say I was quite pleased.
What was most interesting is that every episode on the discs has significant deleted material. There appears to be maybe 20 - 30 seconds or so in the middle of each episode (sometimes at the very beginning) and the final scene of every epsiode (at least the first 5 that I've watched) was deleted from the television cut as well.
So, this set is certainly something to behold!

Not for nothing, but I imagine that Gilligan's Island will be the same way - 20-30 seconds of deleted scenes - because you always observe some strange cut in the scenes on television. They obviously film too much, then have to cut it in order to fit commercials.
Unfortunately, for me, I'm not as intimately familiar with "What's Happening!" to notice the deleted scenes. It wasn't as heavily played as "Gilligan" or "The Brady Bunch," for example. At least, not in New York. But I was a fan of the show, regardless, and look forward to picking this up.
