I actually liked the other one a lot better. I know that everyone else loved the Turtles...but gimme a break. They were in about 5 minutes of the movie. Doesn't deserve a HUGE part of the cover.

Hey, if I directed a film, I'd love to be on the cover!

Pixar's full frame movies are actually RECOMPOSED for the new ratio.. it's pretty slick and you can learn about it on A Bug's Life DVD.. essentially, they recreate the entire shot in the new ratio. Something neat that can be done with the computer animation medium.

This year's biggest box-office fish will be swimming to DVD on November 4th. Finding Nemo - which beat out The Matrixed Reloaded as 2003's top grosser so far - will benefit from Buena Vista Home Entertainment's biggest advertising campaign ever for a home video release. This latest Pixar wonder will get the two-disc treatment, which will include the anamorphic widescreen version on disc one and a 4:3 full screen "recomposed" version on the other, plus Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround EX tracks. Extras include more adult-themed extras such as a visual commentary with the filmmakers which includes additional branching material such as deleted scenes and recording sessions, the "Making Nemo" documentary, and a look at "The Art of Nemo" with extensive stills, starboards and concept art. More kid-friendly fun on disc two includes the "Exploring the Reef With Jean-Michael Cousteau" and "A Tour of Pixar Animation Studios" featurettes, the "Fish Encyclopedia," a "Fisharades" set-top game, the CGI-short film Knick Knack and a "Virtual Aquarium" feature that allows viewers to turn their TVs into fish tanks. Watch for the full press release soon, and retail will be $29.95.

Yes, except that they're making Widescreen Disc 1 which is ever-important for people who rent and only get the first disc, or who just put in the first disc without reading. Shrek and RR had the Fullscreen version on Disc 1. Grr.

I don't know how many time I've popped in the 1st Shrek disc only to realize it's the full frame one

I really wish Pixar would tell Disney to stick their fullframe version where the fish don't swim, and give us a DTS track on the widescreen. For crying out loud, it's only 1.77! The black bars aren't that big!
And as for the re-formatting, the A Bug's Life DVD explains this, and the reformatting is really only done for scenes that would be seriously cropped by the pan and scan. Others just have extra sky and ground added (oh yay
) and the rest are just plain cropped.
