Did Fox stop printing the SE of Fight Club?

I can't find it anywhere but some auction sites. I really really hope it isn't out of print.

Oh thank God. Why Fox is still cranking out the 1 disc edition is beyond me.

So they can basically take advantage of the people that are uninformed and basically for people that dont really care for the extras.

And want to pay less Definitely not a bad thing. Not necessarily a good thing either though.

For the amount of extras you get, you wouldn't think the buck or two would make that much of a difference...

No, it wasn't one of the titles in the 2-disc Best Buy thingy. Those were The Abyss, Independence Day, Planet of The Apes, Cast Away, and The Sound of Music I believe.

It should also be mentioned that the packaging, apparently, will most likely be different for this release. I haven't seen it or anything, but if they changed the other ones, why not this one as well? It's supposed to be in a digipak, no? I've never seen one. How is that different from what it was first released in? Or is that cardboard a digipak?

The rereleases are digipaks, just like the original Fight Club and Moulin Rouge special editions. They'll probably change it slightly, at least to add the stupid numbering scheme they have on the spine of the new ones. Dumbest idea i've seen, as i don't think anyone would put these in number order on their dvd shelf or buy them just to collect all of the "collector's edition" versions.

well, you're prolly right.. but i can see why the studio would do something like that. They see how peeps are willing to spend more $ on things like CCs and Superbits (the former all have specific #s for each title, dunno about the latter) and they are prolly trying to emulate the success. There ARE peeps out there that get CCs and SBs of movies they dont even like, they just want all the CCs/SBs. That kinda fanatical following is pure dollar signs. Not saying this will work... or that its even a good attempt... just that there is good sound reasoning behind it.

I'm crossing my fingers that the new packaging for Fight Club will suck. As jumpy as I am about double dipping if the cover looks better I might go for it. ( Then I think to myself) will the cover really cause you to rebuy the same dvd again? Oh well, I will wait and see

I can't believe they are doing this. I bought the last 2 disc edition that Borders in Cincinnati had about 8-10 months ago. Although I only paid like $24 with shipping I still thought I was getting something that would never be available again. Oh well......

I guess at least now, I can order the re-release and see what is on the 2nd disc since I didn't want to open my "special edition"

My ex-boyfriend used to drone on and on and bloody on about Fight Club until I got to the point where I didn't want to see it. I still haven't seen it (please don't hurt me!), but now I want to. Is Brad Pitt really good in it? I love Edward Norton, so I'm sure he's on the ball. If there's a special edition DVD being rereleased, I may have to check it out (after I rent it first).

I got the 2-disc set back when it came out (first day). I've watched it so much that the case and discs are getting worn (not to mention my bastard friends scratching it...and losing the slipcover). So I'm hoping the cover will be the same so I can upgrade...

It's very good. I'm sure you'd enjoy it. Rent it ASAP is my advice.
