Fear and Loathing (and General Criterion) Question

I just have a question, especially for those that are knowledgable about foreign distributed DVDs...

Is there a single-disc Fear and Loathing Criterion out there? I have one, and I fear that it may be pirated--I haven't looked at it yet, but it is only one disc, has no insert and the disc art is different than the official Region 1 Criterion edition. Plus, the spine doesn't have the number on it either.

Yes there is a single disc version of Fear and Loathing (non criterion).

If you bought the criterion version however and its not 2 discs, with the spine number, and the right cover art?...

bootleg.

Plus, just in case you didn't know, there are NO foreign criterions. The only real criterions were made in america.

Your disc is pirated for sure.

All Criterion have inserts, they never sell one-disc versions of their 2+ disc sets, and all of them (with the exception of the extras disc on Antoine Doinel) have a spine number.

There is a standard version that has been out awhile now. Single disc, different cover, released by Universal and not Criterion. It is still out so it sounds like you just got the 1 disc, Universal release.

I know about the older release. But I think it is a bootleg instead, because the disc art is actually a repro from the cover of the Criterion dvd.
