Like I said, my exceptionally low opinion of him doesn't alter my love of Animal House or several of his other classic movies. I made this point in some of the Polanski threads a few months ago, when people kept virtuously declaring that they wouldn't watch any of Roman's films, or own them on DVD, or speak his name aloud...etc.

Those two kids were working in violation of workplace rules. The facts in this are well established. It's not like Landis woke up that day and said "I'm getting that shot no matter what, I don't care if people have to die.", but nonetheless, he was clearly negligent. Just because a jury can't find someone guilty (and the bar for guilt is set very high, which is a good thing, IMHO), doesn't mean I have to ignore the fact that this guy's arrogance and hubris has a body count.
