This just kills me......
First they do it to me on "The Enemy Below"....
Then they scare the hell out of me by telling me "The Omega Man" won't be released a month before it is suppose to (thank god it made it's way back to the release calendar)....
Now this....

All these theories about why Duel was delayed make me laugh. I'm sure everybody knows the real reason but each and everyone of you decided to deny it since it would probably drive you crazy just to admit it.
The only reason they did not release it is [b]because Spielberg wants to digitally enhance it to make it electric-toothbrush-user-friendly[b] like the rest of his films.
When it is finally released in a couple of years, Spielberg will have added a little scene in the restaurant's washroom where the hero brushes his teeth with a digitally added toothbrush.
That's it! So stop looking for lame excuses.

...Spielberg will have added a little scene in the restaurant's washroom where the hero brushes his teeth with a digitally added toothbrush.
(Of course, Spielberg in a dress might raise a few eyebrows when this version of the DVD hits the market. However, there was that time during the filming of E.T. [on Halloween] when he showed up in drag.)
(I do think his re-doing a scene in "Jaws" showing the director riding the back of the Great White while waving a hat and screaming, a la Slim Pickens, might be a bit out of place however. )

Plus, I had trivia money, so it was like free shipping.

At Amazon, the page for Duel says "Availability: Usually ships within 24 hours."
There's no "available on August 12" or "the studio is currently not producing..." in sight.
My pre-order has still not shipped, but ya never know.

I had the free shipping option, and I usually don't do it, I've had things go out of stock during the delay they add to the free shipping time, when I ordered season one of Friends after the price drop it took them 3 weeks to ship it.
None of my business, quite obviously, anyway. Sorry for butting in, my man. No hard feelings I hope.

I placed an order last night at Amazon and it is now shipping soon. I was going to wait and get this through Columbia House in a few months. But the uncertainty of this title being available later has prompted me to get it now since some online stores are selling it.

At least, if the movie sucks, then I could sell it on ebay for big bucks.
Also, is the dvd widescreen or full screen?
