I don't think it looks like a bootleg at all. It looks like all the other Superbits out there. Maybe you got that idea from the bootlegging morons who put the "superbit" tag on anything they sell and create new artwork. But nothing about this spells "bootleg."

Hopefully, I'm not threadcrapping, but I was very surprised to see that there would be a superbit version of this. I really liked Hook, mind you, but I never would've guessed that it would have a superbit version.
I, for one, will not be upgrading to the superbit version--I don't think this is the kind of movie that really merits it.

Well, I guess there is one thing about it that spells bootleg: I would've thought a Superbit Hook as likely as the criterion version of Goodburger.

The upcoming Lawrence of Arabia seems to be one of the exceptions to the rule, as the first two DVDs came from masters with incorrect colors and some audio miscues. They had recently allowed LOA guru Robert Harris to finally fix the problems, and they wanted an excuse to re-release it to DVD a third time, bingo Superbit.
Overseas they have a Godzilla (1998) Superbit. Say what you will about the flick (no 4 letter words please), but even the current DVD is pretty good. I'd wouldn't mind getting it for a nice DTS demo disc.
Edit to add:
I've also heard rumors about a Jumanji Superbit, which I know is no cinema classic, but I love it.
