hmmm.. kinda slim on extras and a little bit more expensive than the disney tins. I may end up getting it.. if the reviews state that there is quality image and that the extras are worthy.

Does anyone know if the 2 Disc Set will contain the same cartoon shorts that are in the 4 Disc "golden" Collection?

The 4-disc contains 56 shorts and the 2-disc contains 28 shorts, exactly half of the 4-disc's, so I would guess the 28 on the 2-disc are exactly the same as 28 of the 4-disc's. Is that clear?

"Including an array of exclusive bonus DVD features from expert commentaries to insights into the evolution of these classic characters..." The features haven't even been all announced yet...

Let's hope they're not censored!

Wonderful, this is an automatic purchase. My wife and I love Looney Tunes, I can actually remember a lot of these being played with all the un PC stuff when I was younger, and I definitely notice the changes nowadays.

So some of us took a survey on these 'potential' dvds a while back. What is the point of the survey if they are releasing them all anyway?

I think character themed sets would have been nicer. ala disney tins.

TVShowsOnDVD announced the extras, and the video/sound specs too.

Also mentioned that there is a 5th release in this promotion: Space Jam 2 Disc Special Widescreen Edition.

You nailed exactly what the survey had that isn't in this release: the character-themed sets. The survey mentioned a "Bug Bunny Carrot Collection". It isn't being released, at least not in this promotion.

Just a guess, I'd say no Speedy cartoons, but the shorts that are included in the collection will be uncut. Does that count as being uncensored or not?

IF they truly are uncut then it looks as if they’re going to be very "selective" in terms of what is included (as is evident by the total denial of Speedy’s existence) which is basically the same thing they did with the first Tom and Jerry DVD (and even the second to a certain degree).

Oh well. God Bless Kazaa.

Here's a shot of the old vs. remastered picture from Cartoon Research:

Looks nice. I only hope these are good sets and they sell well enough for them to release more. WB did release 5 Golden Age of Looney Tunes sets and they were more expensive and sold to a much smaller audience, so there's a good chance we will see more sets.

Thanks for the link on the details of the Golden Collection and the redundancy of the Premiere Collection. Now I know to anticipate getting just the Golden.

Are these shorts from the golden era of Looney Tunes or has WB added some of the crappier shorts from the mid 60s???

Standing on top of Marc Anthony's head.

While it's extremely doubtful they will release the more overtly racist shorts, I hope they don't skimp on the shorts that have "objectionable violence".
