As long as they include the short where Daffy is being drawn on by the animator...

Does this mean Tiny Toons isn't too far away?

It doesn't seem like they are including any of the black and white
cartoons like "Porky in Wackyland" and "You Ought To Be In Pictures" That is too bad. Maybe next time.

Since these are restorations I wonder if they will they restore the opening credits ie remove the Blue Ribbon card which was used when cartoons were re released and show the director's names etc. which were removed on many of the thirties and early forties cartoons.

I'm pretty sure that's "Duck Amuck" - on Disc 2 of the Golden Collection....... with audio commentary too!
This is also an automatic buy for me, but I just wish they had included "What's Opera, Doc?" on the Bugs disc.

I'm so glad Jerry Becks added that :

...and this is only the first wave. :-)
More is coming our way friends.

By the way, I guess the content of the first disc of the Gold Collection and the Bugs disc would have been the same so they decided not to release it as a single. I don't care, the first box set will satisfy me for a moment.

I sure hope more is coming. Yes, four DVDs are great, but I want What's Opera Doc? ... and Ralph Phillips ... and The Rabbit of Seville ... and ....

One can only hope but if memory serves, during the last WB chat at HTF, they mentioned there were no plans for Tiny Tunes or Animaniacs. I guess one thing at a time.

Rabbit Fire
Rabbit Seasoning
Duck, Rabbit, Duck

Hopefully these will be included soon; I'm ready for some "pronoun trouble".

Man this Fall is going to be expensive. The 4 DVD set looks great. I can't wait to see these uncut.

And Rabbit Fire is on the Daffy Disc. Maybe they put Duck, Rabbit, Duck on disc 3 or 4 so that the Premiere Collection will have a Bugs, Daffy, Elmer episode.
Getting news of the first list of all the shorts is going to be a bittersweet experience. For all the great ones that are going to be on there, there'll be dozens of others we're all itching for but will have to wait. But at least I know my favorite, Duck Amuck, is on there.

But according to a post at the HTF, the 2-disc set will not have any of the extras of discs 3 and 4 - just the cartoons. The only extra on the 2-disc will be a ROM game.

While it's extremely doubtful they will release the more overtly racist shorts, I hope they don't skimp on the shorts that have "objectionable violence".
Well, some are kind of lame anyways. However, masterpieces such as Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarfs and the Inki cartoons will likely turn up. WB said they're restoring ALL of the cartoons...plus, they have some very cool people working on them.

This is only the first of many sets...there will have to be roughly 15-20 4-disc sets to cover every single cartoon.

Since disc 2 is all Daffy and Porky, they better include 'Robin Hood Daffy.'

All and all, it sounds like a great set.

Wonder when we'll see a list of EVERY short that is being included in the sets?

I'm still holdin' out for "What's Opera Doc?" and a couple of others.

Just as long as there are a couple of Marvin Martian cartoons in there... that'll make my wife happy!

i am far too excited about this for a 28-year-old male.... almost aroused, in fact

i have been waiting for ages, ever since renting the LD sets waayyy back in the day.

and they're being restored to boot!!! it's about time they undo the damage done by all those horrendous, dirty prints everyone shows. oh baby.

"WB did release 5 Golden Age of Looney Tunes sets and they were more expensive and sold to a much smaller audience, so there's a good chance we will see more sets."

to be honest, these sets are about 50% mediocrity IMO. maybe from a LT historian viewpoint, but the average fan will be bored silly by the more innocent, meandering shorts. i'm fine if they just release the bulk of the cartoons that star the big names, like Daffy, Bugs, etc..
