Looney Tunes DVD Details

It doesn't seem like they are including any of the black and white
cartoons like "Porky in Wackyland" and "You Ought To Be In Pictures" That is too bad. Maybe next time.
Since these are restorations I wonder if they will they restore the opening credits ie remove the Blue Ribbon card which was used when cartoons were re released and show the director's names etc. which were removed on many of the thirties and early forties cartoons.

This is also an automatic buy for me, but I just wish they had included "What's Opera, Doc?" on the Bugs disc.

I'm so glad Jerry Becks added that :
More is coming our way friends.
By the way, I guess the content of the first disc of the Gold Collection and the Bugs disc would have been the same so they decided not to release it as a single. I don't care, the first box set will satisfy me for a moment.
...and this is only the first wave. :-)

Rabbit Seasoning
Duck, Rabbit, Duck
Hopefully these will be included soon; I'm ready for some "pronoun trouble".

Getting news of the first list of all the shorts is going to be a bittersweet experience. For all the great ones that are going to be on there, there'll be dozens of others we're all itching for but will have to wait. But at least I know my favorite, Duck Amuck, is on there.

While it's extremely doubtful they will release the more overtly racist shorts, I hope they don't skimp on the shorts that have "objectionable violence".
This is only the first of many sets...there will have to be roughly 15-20 4-disc sets to cover every single cartoon.

Wonder when we'll see a list of EVERY short that is being included in the sets?
I'm still holdin' out for "What's Opera Doc?" and a couple of others.
Just as long as there are a couple of Marvin Martian cartoons in there... that'll make my wife happy!

i am far too excited about this for a 28-year-old male.... almost aroused, in fact
i have been waiting for ages, ever since renting the LD sets waayyy back in the day.
and they're being restored to boot!!! it's about time they undo the damage done by all those horrendous, dirty prints everyone shows. oh baby.
"WB did release 5 Golden Age of Looney Tunes sets and they were more expensive and sold to a much smaller audience, so there's a good chance we will see more sets."
to be honest, these sets are about 50% mediocrity IMO. maybe from a LT historian viewpoint, but the average fan will be bored silly by the more innocent, meandering shorts. i'm fine if they just release the bulk of the cartoons that star the big names, like Daffy, Bugs, etc..
