Dumb question about T2: EE

Okay, I know this subject has been beaten to death. I wanted to get the T2: EE tomorrow from BB - I also browsed thru quickly thru older threads saying it'd have the Hi Res hoopola and only could be played on a high end computer w/ XP Pro and WMP 9. etc. I don't have a HDTV either.

All I'm asking here is that will Disc 1 with the full movie play fine on a regular DVD player? Disc 2 wouldn't play at all?

Actually, the special features are on disc 2 (except for the commentary obviously). Only the hi-def version of the movie won't play on the dvd player. Kinda a bummer actually, as I wish I could put my DVD-18 of T2 UE and my disc 1 T2 EE in the same double amray box and toss (or stow away) disc 2. As Disc 2 has features on it, I have to keep it with disc 1.
