49. Does ______ dvd come with an insert?
50. Where's my ______ dvd insert?
51. Isn't _____ supposed to come with an insert?

Tired of hearing about DVD inserts (they take up WAY to many threads in the forum). Remember, SEARCH is your friend.

Put questions about inserts in THIS THREAD

52. Is "XYZ" worth the 9.99 I paid for it. (obviously it was if you bought it!)

53. I have 10 dollars... should I buy X or Y? (Buy a clue! People are gonna suggest what they like based on what THEY like not what YOU like!)

54. Glitter threads (so boring and not even funny anymore)

55. I just got "Insert DVD here". Does anyone else have a problem with the audio? (Sure this is a harmless thread BUT NOT WHEN YOU GOT THE DVD 2 WEEKS BEFORE ITS STREET DATE!!)

SOrry if I repeated any.. it is after 12am and I am damn tarred! :-)

I search the thread to see if anyone had submitted this comment/thread. It took me 3 or 4 pages to find it.

It is always a newbie that submits this.

This thread has made my day...LOLs.

How about:

Is it wrong to copy/pirate movies from the internet?

Are bootlegs wrong if no money switches hands.

While I agree with nearly all of these examples, eliminating them would mean eliminating 90% of all the threads on DVDtalk and any other DVD forum. lol

Oh, I also agree about the "missing insert" thread. WHO GIVES A **** ABOUT THE INSERT!!!

Another vote for
"what are you watching this weekend?"
and looks like for the first vote for
"new to anime, can you recommend some please?"

This "new to anime" was okay the first time around and even gave me some great ideas on what to buy which I didn't already have, but nowadays is seems to appear every week because people are --- as other people have said --- too lazy to do a search!

Another one near the top of my list is
"What are you buying this Tuesday?" primarily because I don't give a dang what YOU're Buying and there are LOTS of websites which list what titles are coming out next week, so it NEVER gives me an idea about something to buy - in fact I don't even click on those threads anymore.

"Rate my collection" is another one which I don't EVEN bother to click on!

"Does anybody know when <insert title here> is coming out?" Grrr, just go to any one of a hundred online stores and search for it - if it isn't listed, then MOST LIKELY nobody is going to be able to honestly answer the question!! There are exceptions to this though - some online stores don't list the title until the studio allows them to start taking pre-orders.

Well, guess that's the end of my rant!

57. Guess what? The minimum-wage guy at the local Wal-Mart made a mistake about DVD aspect ratios!

58. Guess what? I overheard two slobs at the local Wal-Mart and they made a mistake about DVD aspect ratios!

59. Guess what? For some reason I go shopping for DVDs at Wal-Mart a lot and overhear people making mistakes and I have to tell everyone here about it. Isn't it hilarious?

60. I got bad customer service at Wal-Mart. It's amazing! I'm so outraged that the minimum-wage guy at the local Wal-Mart who I heard make a mistake about DVD aspect ratios didn't spend 20 minutes listening to me correct him. What's happening to the work force these days?!?

61. Reasons I prefer my home theater to the horrible, horrible experience of going to the cinema to watch movies in public. What's happening to the public these days?!?

62. Here's a list of 50 TV shows that need to be released on DVD. Please respond with your own list of 50-200 TV shows that no one will read (lists only please, no descriptions or explanations)

63. Why I am superior to every single person I've ever talked to about DVDs. Those idiots!

Does [insert movie] come with a bi-lingual sleeve in Canada? I'm not buying anything with that crap, even if it is a 3 disc deluxe set with DTS unavailable in the US...

Hmm one of my most annoying thread types is the DVD listing threads (which have been already covered, but hey, it's my 2 cents):

What DVD(s) do you *fill in the blank*?

e.g.,
buy this week
only watch parts of
think were the best/worse for a given time frame
would you like to see released
think I should buy/sell
would you double dip on
own that have crossdressing transexual midgets
watch in your underwear in the wee hours of the morning when you've had too much to drink and are on the verge of passing out

and then it starts getting weird...

The employees in John Cusack's record store in high fidelity would be right at home here...

Amen to that!! I don't know about here but over in the "Movie Talk" forum, several new worthless polls pop up every day.

"POLL: What is your favorite (actor/director) movie?"
"POLL: What is your favorite movie from 1986?"

WHO CARES?!?!?!?!!!!

DVDProfessor finally got his threads closed but that hasn't stopped newbies from coming out of the woodwork with their new poll. I mean once I checked and there were 10 polls on the first page. Give me a break!!

This is almost the worst - even worse is when someone asks a question like:

What is your favorite action movie?

It never fails, at least 3 replies down someone simply lists about 50 movies - I mean, do these people just copy and paste this stuff in? Never mind that it asks for a SINGLE movie (nobody can ever keep the single title rule) - did you just copy and paste the response in? Don't bother making the post in the least bit entertaining by elaborating on WHY you like this movie - just list the title!

I totally agree. There was that guy who posted every action movie ever made. I mean for christ's sake X-men was on the list. Its a good movie but i doubt u find one person who says thats the best action movie ever.
