I got into the DVD thing rather late. First DVD I bought was Moulin Rouge just around a little less than a year ago.
First DVD I saw though was probably three year or so years ago, I watched the opening sequence of Tomorrow Never Dies.

I bought The Devils Advocate (The OPP version). It was a
new release at the time. Second movie was The Jackel with
Gere and Willis.
I was looking for anything with a lot of extras and there just
weren't a ton of movies available at the time.

Ah yes, what a great thread. I was thinking of starting one of these. So, okay. First DVD that I bought for MYSELF was:
Monty Python & The Holy Grail (movie Only)
Then my next one was "The Matrix" for my birthday. And "X-men" and "Tommy Boy" for christmas.
I think I got these in 2000 or 2001. Somewhere in between I bet.

Bought the player in November of 97, traded my Laserdisc player for a new Pioneer Dv-500 and 5 free movies, the movies I chose, not a lot to pick from then maybe like 40 Movies, were
Lethal Weapon
The Fugitive
Glimmer Man
Twister
Lethal Weapon 2
I no longer own those versions of Lethal Weapons, Fugitive, and Twister
But the first movie to spin in my DVD player was the Fugitive, Than I purchased Murder at 1600 and Executive Decision a week later.
I still remember owning a Snapper Version of Goldeneye, Wheh that was long ago, when I bought Apollo 13 for 34.95 and Air Force One in February of 98 for 29.99, thanked god i bought it in keepcase vs the cd case, its still with me, and cd cases never really took off
