James Bond -- remaining box sets answer

Got this message from MGM customer service in response to my question about when the next James Bond DVD set will be released. Sorry if it's old news, but I did a search and nothing came up recently.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for your interest in MGM Home Entertainment.

Tentative plans are in place to release the remaining James Bond DVD Giftsets this holiday season 2003.

Check back www.mgm.com for more information as it becomes available.

Sincerely,

Lindsey S. Willis
Customer Service Representative

Good news--I'm still holding out for a boxset with all the films included, kind of like the R2 release.

Ianfleming.org said they would be released at the holiday seasons a year apart, but I'd trust MGM more since they're actualy putting the DVD's out. I thought it was gonna be another 18 months before I could complete my collection but I'll gladly accept them both at the end of this year.

Just wondering, but how would you pull this off if the franchise is still making films? Wouldn't you be waiting until the end of time if you waited for ALL the films to be released, or at least until you heard that no more bonds would be made available?

It's no rumor, the info came directly from someone involved in the re-mastering, who posted on another board!

This was probably answered but I bought the Die Another Day Disk today and they have a preview for all 21 Bond films on dvd, own it today. WTF? The sets were OOP long before DAD came out.

I'd buy a box containing all of the films to date, is what I meant. Or I'd build a time machine. I'll probably just wait for the 2005 releases, though. I'm in no hurry.

DieBarneyDieNY: I don't know what you mean. You might want to check the forum FAQ's, or elaborate on your question. I'd be glad to help.

I still thank my lucky stars that I have all the original boxed sets. The pride of my collection.

They lost me as a customer for the sets when they released Die Another Day as an individual release (plus a free DVD)--I'm not going to double-dip the exact same version of the movie I already own.

I'll still probably buy the other releases, but most of them (except from Russia With Love) I'll just buy at CH, when they become available as enrollments.
