Cronos coming October 14th
Lions Gate Home Entertainment may have finally settled on a release date for director Guillermo del Toro's Cronos. Tentatively scheduled for October 14, the disc will feature a new anamorphic transfer, DD 5.1 track, a commentary with del Toro, new interviews, and a collection of short films from the horror director.

This is some of the BEST DVD new I've heard all year. Finding even a crappy VHS of this movie is near impossible. And the ALL-time GREATEST commentary I've heard to this day, is Del Toro's track on Blade 2 & he is my FAVORITE young directory so I can't wait to see those short films. Thanks for the post, what awesome news.

I've never seen this film, but it wasn't for lack of trying to find it! Very good news.
I understand that the US cut differs from the international cut; which one will we see on DVD?

Great news indeed - I only have it on a VHS taped off one of the premium channels several years ago, and it's one of those films that you never really forget once you've seen it. And even better - with a commentary!

That day should eventually come as Anchor Bay has Bliss scheduled for release in their 2003-2004 releases.

Cronos is AWESOME. Now I want "Bliss" by the same guy who did "Lantana." Then I will never need to buy another DVD again. Ok, JK!

No, the Planet Of Galactic Peace was Nimbus III in Trek V. Qo’nos (Chronos) is the Klingon homeworld, in Trek VI.

I love this movie and will definitely be picking it up when it comes out. I can't believe it has been 10 years since I saw it in the theater yet some of the visuals still stuck with me.

I pre-ordered Cronos from Bestbuy.com last week, but just got the "back-ordered" notice that it will be delayed. I hope it's not too long, but it was a good deal for $9.99 using that recent $5 discount that they had on the website.
I'm also very happy to hear that "Bliss" is coming out next year from Anchor Bay. I'm assuming we're talking about the 1985 Australian film, directed by Ray Lawrence, starring Barry Otto. That's a great one that I saw in an art-house theater when it first came to the U.S. I wanted to see it again last year, so I broke down and bought a used vhs copy. Thanks for the good news about the upcoming DVD.

hahaha...my initial response to this thread title:
"What the ****? AGAIN??"
but yea, its an excellent movie/dvd. Del Toro and the lead actor (don't remember his name...great in Devil's Backbone and Men With Guns) make a good duo, me thinks.
