I was looking on the Lions Gate ent web site and they list But I'm a cheerleader as a preorder for 7/22/03, so I was wondering if this is going to be a new SE of the film. The Universal dvd is supposedly OOP, although its very easy to find. I'm hoping that with recent Lions Gate films being released again by their own company (not Universal), that but I'm a cheerleader will feature a new dvd of the film. The film could really use an overhaul in terms of the audio quality, 5.1 DD as opposed to the original 2.0 track. Plus, special features and some of those deleted scenes from the trailer would be great to see as well.

Does anyone know what the story is with this new release?

Don't expect anything special or new about this release. Lions Gate/TriMark has picked up quite a few Univeral titles that went out of print the last few months and are simply re-releasing them with lower price. I haven't seen any in this batch that indicates anything special being done to the re-releases.

Sadly, as there are so many boots of this film on ebay the genuine article rarely goes any higher than $15-$20. It's really not worth selling if you already own it.
