I really enjoyed the docs on Silence of the Lambs, Platoon, Amadeus, and Legend. Two that were not solely about production that I really liked were: The Battle Over Citizen Kane and Preston Sturges: The Rise and Fall of an American Dreamer which is on Sullivan's Travels. I am really looking forward to the docs on Black Hawk Down Deluxe Edition and The Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition.

I can't believe no one mentioned The Exorcist - 25th Anniversary Edition. It comes with the feature length BBC documentary The Fear Of God. It may be the best "making of" extra that I've seen yet.

I enjoyed the making-of doc from Jackie Brown - it was very well done, and didn't appear to be going through the motions as most documentaries do. In fact, out of all of Quentin Tarantino's DVD's, I'd have to vote for "Jackie Brown" as being the best overall.

I second Mr. Kite!'s recommendation. The BBC's "The Fear of God - 25 Years of the Exorcist" found on the 25th Ann. Ed. DVD is one of the most comprehensive and compelling film documentaries you'll ever see...not to be missed.

Has to be my favorite as it was such a candid look at what they went through to make that movie. The docs on AOTC are pretty good too.

I prefer these types of "making of" docs to the more slickly produced "HBO" style(which is usually just a bunch of ego stroking). The actually documnetary style ones show so much more of what really goes on.

A lot of the spielberg docs are great; like

Jaws, Close encounters of the third kind, 1941, E.T (Gift Set), Color Purple, Empire of the sun, Saving Private Ryan.

I watched the 12 Monkeys Making Of doc today and really enjoyed it. It's a feature in itself. I want to say it lasted for about 90 minutes.

Another I just watched the other day that I greatly enjoyed was the Field of Dreams documentary. I had no idea all the s**t the filmmakers had to go through with that corn!
