Well i prefer having the uncut version..if i choose to own only one version of the film!

Since i won't waste my time viewing the 'cut' version, besides possibly checking out the differences between the two once & maybe showing friends once in awhile. The 'cut' version becomes of no real use 99.9% of the time. So to save $$,i purchase the version of the film i prefer. + if i even bothgered buying the 'unrated' mainstream releases like American Pie along with the rated versions. That would be a big waste of time. Especially when you can easily catch the R rated versions on the Starz networks. + the differences are way to small to begin with. Though the 'lesbian' sequence in AP 2 is much better uncut

I did at one time own both the R & Unrated version of Dead Alive. Great to show people the difference between the two which is huge. Yet i quickly got tired of it..& sold both versions off. Plan to pick up the(unrated) dvd eventually, though a SE may be in the works.

If it doesn't exist what makes you think that all of a sudden it's going to appear out of mid-air. IT DOESN'T EXIST!
Thats like saying the uncut version of Disturbing Behavior does'nt 'exist'. Prints of it exist. It's just not available on any home video format

Could you mean, says?

Could you mean, may?

Umm it's alittle thing called a typo...+ useing a wireless keyboard makes more typos possible if the batteries are low

While this movie was being shopped around for a studio to release it there were many news stories about Rob going through hell trying to get the version he wanted viewed by audiences. Some of the reports made his tribulations sound like the making of “Brazil”. When it was finally cut down so that it received an R rating, Rob specifically said that he would try and get the 15 to 20 minute longer “uncut” version released on DVD. Now he is backing away from those statements. He is probably under pressure from Lion's Gate, the studio knows that if an uncut version is rumored it will eat into the DVD’s sales. They may have gotten Rob to toe the company line by promising to support a sequel, who knows?

The bottom line is that this version is not the director’s original intent. There are enough DVDs out there that I want to make not buying this one no great loss. Remember the original cut of Brazil was the “theatrical” version, and if it weren’t for Criterion there is no way I’d ever own it.

BTW, just because Rob says there isn’t an uncut version doesn’t make it true. If Rob had a version that he shopped around until he was forced to make cuts by Lion’s Gate than it has to exist. It just may not be in a version that is ready to transfer.

P.S. DVDProfessor, the whole “grammar police” thing you got going on is very annoying.
