Bent and a big Thank You to MGM

I watched Bent last night and I was quite impressed with the story. At first I doubted I would be *very* interested in a Holocaust love story. Surprise! The movie works. In fact, it's now one of my favorites. MGM deserves praise for bringing some great gay themed movies to DVD. However, the extras were sadly lacking and there was no insert! Really, how much money are they saving by skipping an insert?

Finally, as a gay person I do wish to express gratitude for these titles being released: Jeffrey, The Sum of Us and My Beautiful Laundrette.

Ditto, and I'm glad they included so many extras with It's My Party!

Audio commentary, deleted scenes, three featurettes... Very nice!

I notice that Ian McKellan is in this. I loved him Lord of the Rings and X-Men, so I'm sure this will be right up my alley too. I'm going to give it a blind buy.

More *gay* thoughts and a new movie/DVD

Well, it has been a week since I watched Bent and it's still *with* me! I can't believe this movie didn't make a bigger splash.

Tonight I'm going to see Friends & Family, a new gay comedy. Hopefully the movie is enjoyable and a *loaded* DVD is in our future.

MGM skimps on the inserts for most of the catalog titles these days-- and they're not the only ones.

Another great gay-themed catalog title just released is Beautiful Thing...
