my count is @ #547
i count things by movie. so if for instance cast-away has 2-discs i only count it as 1. as far as box sets go i again count by movies. for example: die hard set = 3 why should i count it as 1 and someone bought them seperately counts them as 3.

Well, I think I'm near 200, but including seasons sets (I have 5) and the entire Nightmare on Elm Street series, I have probably near 245-250, but if you go by double dics and not title, then near 300.

Does anyone feel guilty abit for how many we have? I am a college student and part-timer @ UPS, so I proud of this little collection. Everyone I know here in the Omaha/Papillion, NE region-I have the most. All my friends have under 40. If I pick more choosingly, I'll probably pick up nearly 40 more this year (yeah, right). On a plus side, I've seen everyone once, 85% twice to four times, and a few more than that-so I get my $ worth.

By my DVD Profiler count, I have 460. According to my wife, that's too many. But of course, in reality, it's not nearly enough.

How do you get more discs than titles? I guess it would be from double feature discs or something right? Anyway I would be the complete opposite, way more discs than titles.

i think thats what most people do. i cant possible understand someone counting a 2 disc movie as 2 dvds. or the die hard triology as 3. those people are just buying dvds for the wrong reason im sure.

i have under 100 (ive never actually counted) and i dont feel guilty even though i dont know anyone with remotely close to me. everyone is like 'whoa! thats alot of dvds'

i like my collection because its small and has all the movies i like...i only buy movies i love. not like. i dont collect for collecting sake...i buy to enjoy the movie. thus nothing to feel guilty about.

what I meant was....just check dvdaf. by discs...I meant dvds....a purchase. the way dvdaf counts is fine with me. If i have 900 dvds...I'll have many more titles. the Die Hard box is 1 purchase, but 3 films...titles. sorry for saying it wrong, I did not mean it that way.

btw, many parents are idiots and let 10 year olds watch re-runs. why do I see 12 year olds wearing old B&B t's....maybe it's a geographic sorta thing....

I have exactly 1700! Started when PlayStation 2 came out I believe 10/01.

This is how you should count:
Gladiator/Spider-man/Star Wars etc. equals 1 not 2.
Die Hard Boxset equals 3, not 6 and not 1, but 3.
But if the disc has it's own case then it counts, such as the Scream boxset that counts as 4 not 3 and not 1.
South Park/Simpsons/Sopranos, etc. counts as 1.
Monty Python Boxset counts as 14, mainly because you can buy them seperate.
