My collection rivals pdjennings!

Wait...no it doesn't...

I have around 280, on my way to the big 3-0-0.

I started collecting when Swordfish came out, that was my first one.

Counting boxed sets as one I have about 282.

After all my pre-orders and CH dvd's come in this weekend, I should be at around 300.

And yes, i'm picky.

Most dvds bought at one time... 214. A FORMER Circuit City manager had a garage sale. Claimed they were all FREE samples. He wanted 5.00 each. I took them ALL for 3.00 each! He also threw in a huge box of legos (!?!)

I'm at 415 now with 8 coming in the mail soon.

I count by title, not disc. However, box sets count as one but something like the Godfather Trilogy would count as 3.

Pretty crazy since I've only been collecting for about a year.

But I guess that I'm nowhere near that guy that has 720 since 4/02.

Currently at 96. I started collecting in Oct. 2002, and funded almost all of them by selling unwanted CD's on half.com. Three CH memberships and a Disney Movie Club membership have also helped.

My wish list is up to 250, and like my music and book collections, the DVD collection will never really be anywhere near "complete."

Counting just movie titles I have 105. I thought I had quite a few, but it looks like I am just a baby in comparison.

I'm at 48. I used to have around 100 but realised they were just wasted space and I wouldn't watch them again. I own most of what I want so my collection will grow slowly. I have mr bean on the way and plan on getting the indiana jones set.

As of Today - 1072, with 13 more on the way. But, I listed all the titles in the Twilight Zone box sets individually for reference purposes, so that number is a little inflated.

The sad part is that probably 40 - 50% are still sealed and unwatched, and another good percentage is utter trash (but that's the way I like 'em).

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 315 with a few pre-orders on the way. And that's not counting the ole pr0n collection.

I know my percentage is much worse. I have a large number of titles that I saw in the theater within the last couple of years, and while I liked the movie to buy the DVD, I haven't been in a hurry to watch it again. And for the ones that are blind buys, many are waiting for a time when my wife is not watching some broadcast TV and is in the mood for a movie.

I suppose that if I were really smart, I wouldn't buy anything, and wait until HD-DVD is out, but it's probably going to be another decade before that happens, and a lot of the current $5-$7 DVDs will probably never be remade into that format.

Lastly, to keep this on topic, what's the big deal about how many DVDs anyone owns? What's important is, are you happy with the ones you own? If you have 50 titles that you love, and will watch again and again, is that a better collection than someone who has 2000 titles that they watched once and hated them all? I think so.

As some of you guys have done, counting boxsets as one (The 7 Nightmare on Elm Street movies as one disc) I've got 374 discs. Counting everything individually (but still counting season sets with 6-7 discs as one dvd) I have 424.

Between 210 and 250, depending on how you count.

I'm a little amazed at how many discs some of you guys have. I consider myself to be a fairly serious film fan (relative to "normal" people) and I'm running out of titles I want to own even at my level. I can't fathom owning ten times my amount.

I limit myself to only buying movies that I know I'll watch at least five times.
