I'm lovin' this new release---beautiful widescreen anamorphic print for a classic western, IMO. I think the late 50's/early 60's was just about the peak for the American western, and although this one doesn't usually get mentioned up there with Rio Bravo, the Searchers or the Magnificent Seven, I think it's an underrated, extremely well done movie. Classic, rousing Elmer Bernstein score, great colorful Cinemascope, solid direction from Michael Curtiz, and John Wayne at his peak. Anyone else enjoy this one?

I have to agree. This was a period for some lavish sets, great scenery, and excellent acting.
