A possibility that the Alien Quadrilogy will NOT be out this year?!
Saw this over at Filmjerk (http://www.filmjerk.com/nuke/article509.html) regarding the re-release of Alien in theaters:
"Our source also tells us that, should this rerelease become successful, like the "Star Wars" trilogy and "Exorcist" rereleases, tentative plans have already been set to release James Cameron's restored cut of "Aliens" into theatres next spring. "
If this happened, wouldn't they probably delay the boxset until after Aliens was released to maximize profit? It wouldn't make sense to release the DVD's then put out Aliens in theaters later.

Isn't this set supposed to come out sometime in the fourth quarter of 2003? If so, I would imagine the date will be pretty much set in stone and the discs will have been announced by Fox by the time Alien get re-released at Halloween.

If Alien did get re-released, it would be right about the same time the discs are tentatively planned to be released, so how would they even know if the rerelease was successful?
Plus, there's the fact that the movie is already out on DVD, so I don't know how delaying it would maximize profits.
