Finally! Another "Army of Darkness" Release on 9/2...

This time not by Anchor Bay though. Read on digitalbits that on 9/2, Universal feels that they could cash in on the most released DVD ever. Should be interesting to say the least...

Whats wrong with the version that just came out? Since they can't get the asian print, there is no point releasing it again./

Any chance that they will release all the versions of Army Of Darkness in one box set? Because I don't know if I should just buy them one at a time or wait, because I would want the box.

*tongue firmly in cheek*

Because North American distributors of Army of Darkness don't have any rights to the new transfers showing up in Asian AoD releases, such as my wonderful MGM HK R3 release. If you don't got the rights to it, you can't legally release it.

Ok..so now I'm curious. What does that Asian release have that the Limited Edition US 2 Disk version does not?

Really? Where can I get this version? Where did you all buy it from. Wouldn't mind getting another copy for a better version. The limited edition doesn't look that great on a 65" widescreen.

It's the Director's Cut with a better looking ANAMORPHIC transfer (still some grain, but not nearly as bad as the US Director's Cut), plus Dolby Digital 5.1. All that and you get to see Bad Ash rip off Sheila's dress.

www.cd-wow.net should be the cheapest. You can also try www.dddhouse.com www.dvdshelf.com or www.hkflix.com

What's the big deal about the Directors Cut being in better quality? The theatrical version is a better movie.

Yes. I have a Malata DVP520, but hardly any none Region 1 DVDs. Looking to see what is out there to build up my international collection. Thanks for the concern. :-)

Of course, not everyone in the universe shares your opinion, so a better transfer can be quite a big deal.

I don't understand why Universal doesn't release the version they show on SCI-FI. That retains some of the best lines, has extra footage, and the quality is great.

And speaking of boxsets, I read that AnchorBay UK will be releasing one of all the films plus new extras.

They might not own the print and don't feel like coughing up the money to buy it despite the huge following it has.
