In all seriousness:

1) Lord of the Rings FOTR both 2-disc AND EE - Detested the film, but my wife likes it...

2) The Matrix - bought into the hype...

3) The Scorpion King - Coupon made it $9.99.

Now, I'll duck to avoid the rings that the hobbits are going to be throwing my way...

Hey I said Sparkle Motion rocked.

I dunno, the movie to me felt like it missed whatever it was trying to accomplish. I'll try to watch it again sometime, but like I said, a lot of it was hype I got from this board and a friend of mine here in Dallas.

I am not but I am just saying it is funny how many of the people on this board hate Pearl Harbor but how many of them got them as "gifts". Just sayin.

Black Mama, White Mama - Staring Pam Grier in a woman's prison/'Defiant Ones' rip-off. After enjoying Coffy and Foxy Brown, I made the mistake of buying this one as part of a buy 2 get one free sale.

Jeepers Creepers - bought previewed during a sale at blockbuster, so I didn't spend too much for it, but still... yuck. What was I thinking?

oh, and um... Birth of a Nation: Madacy but that's not on my shelf. It's been disowned by me, tossed aside and discarded in the back of my closet somewhere.

'Soldier' with Kurt Russell. I don't know what possessed me at the time.

High School USA starring Micheal J Fox, Nancy McKeon, and Anthony Edwards. Got it for 5 bucks at wal mart because I liked it when I was like 7.

Surprisingly, it doesn't hold up.

No. There is not.

The absolute nadir of the genre is without a doubt The Blair Witch Project. If anyone was scared by it, I suggest you seek some serious counciling immediently. God forbid you ever drive by some trees and rocks on the roadside, as you'll probably soil yourself in terror.

This 'project' gets an F.
I will go on record and agree with you that these two movies are not very good overall. However, I have to say that "Horror" movies, I'll use that term lightly in this case, depend a lot on what the viewer is fearful of. Now the only film that I was ever scared while watching was Jaws when I was a child. However my boss at work is deathly afraid of being in the woods and has never gone camping. He is a big horror fan though so he had to see this film. Needless to say he shudders whenever someone mentions the title to this day.

I think the first film would have been much more effective if it had a good 5.1 audio track while they were in the woods. Then it may have even scared me during the night scenes .....

I've got your back on this one. If this had found it's way into my collection somehow, I would have listed it instead of Stepmom.

I order a lot of Chinese movies from Hong Kong. Sometimes to fill out an order I'll pick up a couple of blind buys. Heck, they're only about $5.16 each.

With that in mind--Erotic Ghost Story: Sophie. Extremely lame and not erotic at all. I was so disappointed as I really liked EGS 1, 2, and 3. This one wasn't even shot on film.

Also, The Fruit is Ripe. Terrible sequel to the cute and funny "The Fruit is Swelling."

I have never bought this, but I was very impressed with the bombing sequences in the Harbor. If I can ever get this for around $10 at my local new/used place, I will prolly buy it and just skip to that part all the time and prolly take in the extras.

I WANT TO STRAIGHTEN SOMETHING OUT ABOUT NCMOJO'S POST!!!!!!!!!!!! This is his wife. Why oh why did he allow a dvd of Bounce to enter his house you may ask. Gee, could it be that he bought it as a gift for his wife one Christmas?!?!?! Now he may complain that it is the worst dvd in the house. MOJO, ARE YOU OUT THERE? First of all, you bought the dvd. Secondly, please tell our friendly viewing audience about the whole movie. What is that I hear? Deafening silence????? What? You never watched it? You bought it for me. You talk about it being the worst dvd on our shelf and you never watched it to give it a fair review????

I am sorry you all had to be dragged into this. I am off to give him 40 lashes.

Christina

I am sorry folks. Mojo sometimes likes to feel better about himself by making jabs at me to other people. I am sorry you all had to be dragged into this. I will go give him 40 lashes.

My wife has a thing for "divas" with bad personality. She made me put her Madonna and Mariah Carey DVDs on my Boltz rack. I draw the line on Glitter. We're not even renting it on Netflix. She managed to tivo'ed it from Starz though.

OK, maybe that was a bad example...

(gee, this doghouse sure is cramped and stuffy... and it's hard to get comfortable with your foot wedged securely in your mouth...)

I shudder at the mention of this movie too, but only because it's so bad. I detested all of the characters in the movie, and only liked one scene - the final scene before the credits.

Both of the Trading Spaces DVDs. I think Trading Spaces is mildly amusing at best, annoying at worst. But my wife is big into interior design, so we had to have them.

I made a deal with my wife. If I have to sit through an episode of Trading Spaces, she has to sit through an episode of either Mr. Bean, Monty Python's Flying Circus, or Babylon 5. Fair trade, I must say.
