A few like Enough (got for my mom) and Whatever It Takes and a few more I'm sure... some say I should be ashamed of Spice World but my boyfriend gave it to me and it's hi-larious :)

UncleCaveman 05-27-03 02:03 PM

I would have to say Zombi 3! that movie that Lucio Fulci didnt finish (it would be so much better if he did)... well I paid like $3 for it at a garage sale.

RyoHazuki 05-27-03 02:15 PM

Columbia House politley sent me Sweet Home Alabama. Still in the plastic it sits somewhere in my room.

DarthMaul420 05-27-03 02:21 PM

"I Spit on Your Grave, too"

Easily the worst on the forum.

KWilliamTaylor 05-27-03 02:30 PM

Yeah. Pearl Harbor. I bought it this past weekend. ..and that's $5 smackers too much. What the hay .. some scenes are reference quality.

But .. as Turd Ferguson has said "I've seen pornos with better dialogue." What a forsaken joke of a movie that attempted to be. It really is comical.

Sparkle Motion rocked though. ;)

Dude that is a great movie. I can't believe that it's being lumped in with Glitter, Crossroads and Bumfights.

Not what I would expect from a guy with a quote from the movie in his sig ;)

Cardinal Fang 05-27-03 02:40 PM

Stepmom for me, too. However, I refuse to sell it, because then my worst DVD would become something I actually paid for! ;)

Mondo Kane 05-27-03 02:47 PM

Another for Pearl Harbor.

The only reason why I'm still holding onto Somers' Mummy movies is cuz my neice loves 'em.

C_Fletch 05-27-03 02:48 PM

The Punisher starring Dolph Lundgren!! You know you're in for a treat when DOLPH is on the cover!!! You get em MAN!!!

Dsilva71 05-27-03 02:59 PM

Joes Apartment. I can't really give it away because it was a gift.

Caliking 05-27-03 03:01 PM

Weekend at Bernies...freebie with some other lame movie.

LolaRennt 05-27-03 03:05 PM

I really love Peter Jackson movies. And I am not talking about this just because he made LOTR. I watched his movies 10 years ago, when he started with Bad Taste and Braindead. Sadly to say though, my worst movie also comes from him. I cannot convince myself to watch Meet the Feebles. I have tried watching it about 5 times now, and I just cannot persuade myself to continue for more than about 45 minutes.

DonnachaOne 05-27-03 03:06 PM

I have Young Guns. Not bad at all (but hardly great), and it was cheap, but to know that that is the last Disc in my collection alphabetically?

"Yeah, I own 400 films, from 12 Monkeys to Young Guns."

I thought it was from The SImpsons? ;)

uteotw 05-27-03 03:13 PM

I just sold my worst 4 on ebay (it always pains me to list some on ebay but once they're gone I never miss them. Hmmm...), so now I'd say my worst is Police Academy. One of the first DVDs I ever got, non-anomorphic, not good quality, just not that funny anymore. Could also be HeartBreakers--got it for $5.99, convinced myself that it was pretty darn funny, watched it once and have not touched it since. Probably never will again...

I hear your pain, but I just now realized that Mr. Jackson was the mastermind behind that. Oscar caliber actors/directors are allowed snafus like that every once and a while, look at Costner for god's sake (Waterworld and The Postman).

Honestly, when I read this topic I thought of worst "fitting" DVD in my collection. You all know what I mean, with how not everyone's DVDs are uniform in fitting on the shelf. Besides the whole snapper debate, I have to go with Pulp Fiction or An Evening with Kevin Smith as the worst on my shelf because they just do not look right in their slipcovers.

The "worst" DVD in my collection, while some found humor in some of my choices, I really do not have any in my collection that I can not watch over and over again. Those that have been in my collection (that are "dogs") find their way out rather quickly.

Chad 05-27-03 03:20 PM

Quality wise would be "Meet The Feebles"...I'd gladly dump it if the special edition ever comes.

As far as the worst movie goes, that honor would probably go to "Bats".

tasha99 05-27-03 03:32 PM

I'm ashamed to say I bought Moulin Rouge. I got it for my daughter though, who loves it.

tasha

NaturalMystic79 05-27-03 03:33 PM

Spaceballs. Ridiculous movie that isn't funny at all. The only part that was halfway funny was Pizza The Hut. Got the movie as a gift last year. Was only watched once after the person got it for me. Funny thing is 4 of the 5 people watching the movie fell asleep halfway through.

Can I quote that as new sig?

Mine would have to be Kindred: The Embraced. I thought I fondly remembered this short lived series. I was not right.

mh4268 05-27-03 03:48 PM

I own Cabin Boy. It is ok with a buch of guys drunk watching it, same with my roommate Captain Ron, but now I live alone so it is not nearly as funny.

DarthVong 05-27-03 03:48 PM

Weekend at Bernies.

There's nothing wrong with "Cabin Boy"!! And the only thing wrong with "Meet the Feebles"is the quality of the disc itself. The flick is priceless. PRICELESS, I TELLS YA!

I enjoyed going to my friend's house this weekend and arranging a "Wall of Shame" out of some of his more questionable DVD's. Taking the top spots were Return of the Incredible Hulk, Final Destination 2, three Sex in the City season sets (keep in mind this is a 21 year old, beer-drinking, Helloween listening, Hellacopters shirt wearing rocknroll Viking we're talking about. SitC hardly seems appropriate)...and topping it all off: Crocodile Hunter:Collision Course.

I think what pained me most was that buried underneath this crap were beautiful copies of the Herzog/Kinski boxed set, the Peter Sellers and Alec Guinness collections, and more classic Hammer than you can shake Ingrid Pitt at. This boy and his priorities, aye yi yi...

MasterCXtreme 05-27-03 03:56 PM

The Mummy 1&2 - Used to like em, they've grown old.
Best Of Insomniac - Definitley not the best.
Bootleg Copy Of "8 Mile" - Speaks for itself. Quality sucks.

Joe Schmoe 05-27-03 04:06 PM

It's a tie between "Batman & Robin" and "Alien Resurrection."

ryuryu2949 05-27-03 04:13 PM

I was going to say either Surviving the Game or Tango and Cash, but I like those guilty pleasures, so I will go with The Limey.

Muah'dib 05-27-03 04:20 PM

There's really only one movie that I have that I don't care for and that is Chasing Amy. It was my first Criterion and was cheap so I figured what the heck. Needless to say I didn't like it. Still have it for the simple and only reason that it is a Criterion. Just in case I ever decide to get them all (yeeeaaaahhh...That'll happen :D)

shanester 05-27-03 04:23 PM

Moulin Rouge:

I loathed that movie and I don't like having to look at it on my freakin shelf. Wish I had a fireplace so I could burn that sucker

Ps Nicole is still eye candy though

No. There is not.

The absolute nadir of the genre is without a doubt The Blair Witch Project. If anyone was scared by it, I suggest you seek some serious counciling immediently. God forbid you ever drive by some trees and rocks on the roadside, as you'll probably soil yourself in terror.

This 'project' gets an F.

themovieguru 05-27-03 04:51 PM

I will probably get flamed but for me Blade Runner!

BuckeyeDawg 05-27-03 05:03 PM

Got throw my hat in the ring:

Easily the worst war film of all time...
PEARL HARBOR

They should have paid people to see that. Wait, I take that back. They should have just given us money, and just left it at that. I couldn't even watch the whole thing it was so bad.

What a waste of time, energy, money, film, talent (oh wait, was there any in the film?)

You ARE asking for it! But, I have to agree from the small parts I have seen.

teddydogg 05-27-03 05:21 PM

I would have to say the Wicker Man after several people from this board raved about it I went out and spent $24.99 at BB and have been ashamed of myself ever since. I used to give my buddy crap because he always picked bad movies to watch (eighteenth angel  ) and he has since never forgiven me for that fateful night I made him watch this "great" movie. If anyone is interested in the classic Wicker Man let me know I am stilll looking for a buyer!

k_lodge 05-27-03 05:22 PM

Left Behind : The Movie

A relative saw that I was reading the book, thought I might enjoy the movie. While watching that piece of crap, I wished the end of the world would come

Simpson Purist 05-27-03 05:23 PM

Driven
Stepmom
Six Days, Seven Nights
The Story of Us

All of those I mentioned I got for free as part of some offer.

cultshock 05-27-03 05:26 PM

Zombie Lake

I'm a sucker for zombie and euro horror films and this was cheap but god is it a bad film (one of Jean Rollin's worst). On the other hand, the DVD quality is excellent. The picture quality is far better than this film deserves.

packaok 05-27-03 05:30 PM

In all seriousness:

1) Lord of the Rings FOTR both 2-disc AND EE - Detested the film, but my wife likes it...

2) The Matrix - bought into the hype...

3) The Scorpion King - Coupon made it $9.99.

Now, I'll duck to avoid the rings that the hobbits are going to be throwing my way...

Hey I said Sparkle Motion rocked. ;)

I dunno, the movie to me felt like it missed whatever it was trying to accomplish. I'll try to watch it again sometime, but like I said, a lot of it was hype I got from this board and a friend of mine here in Dallas.

ArchibaldTuttle 05-27-03 05:46 PM

its probably a tie between a bridge too far, and killer klowns from outer space, but I still watch them from time to time

teddydogg 05-27-03 05:55 PM

I am not but I am just saying it is funny how many of the people on this board hate Pearl Harbor but how many of them got them as "gifts". Just sayin.

Tscott 05-27-03 06:05 PM

Black Mama, White Mama - Staring Pam Grier in a woman's prison/'Defiant Ones' rip-off. After enjoying Coffy and Foxy Brown, I made the mistake of buying this one as part of a buy 2 get one free sale.

Jeepers Creepers - bought previewed during a sale at blockbuster, so I didn't spend too much for it, but still... yuck. What was I thinking?

oh, and um... Birth of a Nation: Madacy :o but that's not on my shelf. It's been disowned by me, tossed aside and discarded in the back of my closet somewhere.
