Issues with Reindeer Games Director's Cut?

Love this movie so please no threadcrap about how awful it is if you didn't like it

On watching the DVD today, I noticed several points where the image 'jumped', like a frame or two were missing. It must've happened about 10 or 11 times during the movie and it annoyed the hell out of me!

None of the reviews I have read of this DVD mention this issue apart from this one:

However, I did notice quite a few “jumps” during the movie. These seemed to occur because of the re-integrated material, and it looked like a frame was missing from time to time, which caused the skips.
Source: http://dvdmg.com/reindeergames.shtml

Despite what the reviewer says, these 'jumps' occur not just where the new material is added, but elsewhere too.

Anyone else noticed these?

I was also wondering if this 'flaw' was only present on the US Reg 1 and not the Canadian Reg 1, or if all copies are affected? Or is there a re-release of this or a disk exchange I've missed out on?

I got mine from DeepDiscountDVD just a week or two ago.

Thanks in advance for any help

I've also noticed the "jumping" problem too. I also noticed during the middle of the movie a blue vertical line appeared for a split second in the middle of the screen.

Thanks for your replies guys

Didn't notice the blue vertical line, I guess I was too busy looking out for more 'jumps'

Do you both have the US release, same as me?

I have the one from Dimension

I have never opened it yet, it has Gary Sinese in it, I only watch him in my favorite "Mission To Mars". I put in my DVD exchange to trade it for another movie without Gary Sinise, I don't watch any movies other than Hackers for I like Angelina Jolie to remain the same. Ido the same wih the Blue Lagoon because I like Brook Shields, but not as a full adult. I am a bit strange I'll be the first to admit that.

So if you want to try a Dimension Brand "Exclusive Directors Cut" of Reindeer Games, look me up in the DVD exchange forum. It says it has more than previous DVD releases in it. WS/A 2.35:1 with DDS5.1 sound. All new Director Cut John Frankenheimer commentary, behind the scenes featurette and more.

The release you have is the one we are talking about.

I hope you don't mean what it sounds like you mean

SG

I am not a pediophile, Gary Sinise was in his mid 20's for "Mission to Mars". Jaclyn Smith was 46 when she played in a movie called De `ja` Vu in 1995 with Shelley Winters about re-incarnation.

When I see a actor or actress in a certain film, I never want to that actor or actress play any other roles, does that make it clearer to you?

There are enough actor/actress's to do this with...call it eccentricity of a 56 year old recluse. LOL

Gary Sinise was in his mid 20's for Mission to Mars? What movie were you watching?! According to the IMDB he was 45 years old when they made that film.

Liked the movie but didn't know there were 2 versions of the DVD. Guess I have the theatrical release.

Jim,

I had the regular version before the Director's Cut and have to say the Director's Cut is much better. Much more violent and the characters are developed more

I noticed a couple of 'jumps' in the regular version but there are more in the Director's Cut.
