The Tick on DVD!

http://www.sonypictures.com/cthe/tv/tvondvd.html

Sony has announced that "The Tick: The Complete Series" is coming to DVD this year. They didn't specify if it's the live-action or cartoon ( I would assume the live-action), but it rules none the less!!!

If it's the animated series that is VERY good news (my VCD's suck). If it's just the live-action series, it's only so-so news (my girl friend goes into epileptic seizures when she watches it, so there's the entertainment value). It has to be the cartoon. "The Complete Series" seems a little extreme for a series that had... what six episodes?

The live action is what people were voting for on the poll.

And I might be in a minority, but I do feel that the live action was way better than the animated series.

Actually 9 episodes, 8 aired, 1 unaired.. and if they get 'fancy' it could be 10...

The 9th episode ("The Terror") was actually supposed to be the second episode aired... before it was aired, it was re-cut/re-filmed as a 'flashback' episode so it could air last... so if they wanted ot be really innovative, you could have it both ways..

then again, "complete series" could be BOTH the animated and live action...

You're waaaay in the minority.

The live action Tick was okay, but the animated one was absolutely brilliant. I feel that it's on the same level of brilliance as the best of the Simpsons - but you really have to know your comic book superheros to truly appreciate it.

I LOVED the animated series. I was embarrassed that I even watched the live-action series until its death.

Snowmaker, I love your signature. That Chris Walken is one funny dude.

Oh, and I like The Tick, but will only buy this if it's animated. There, now I'm on topic.

This DVD set is the live-action series. Fox owns the animated series and at their last HTF chat they said they didn't have any plans for a DVD release. However, given the sales of Futurama, Family Guy, Simpsons, King of the Hill, etc, I'm sure they're considering it.

This was one of the ones I voted for, but I'm still a little disappointed we won't be seeing Action on DVD.

Congratulations, studio! I just purchased the VCD's for it, and now someone else is making illegal money off of your desire to keep me from getting the show.
