From: You have moved into a dark place. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
All the story said was "the writers, producers, various cast members, and Seinfeld himself".
But it said that commentaries were recorded for every episode.
I don't know how kosher it is to post the details from the page as it lives in my HD cache, since the magazine pulled the story intentionally, it seems (I e-mailed them).
I guess they weren't supposed to leak the info. Whoops!

This is another sitcom that I absolutely must own. I've seen the episodes so many times, but they still have such high replay value - they never get old.
Now, with commentaries, that's just icing on the cake. Indeed sweet.

The las thing we need is another Seinfeld thread. So here's a little news item from www.tvshowsondvd.com:

Good news I guess. I thought it was supposed to be coming sooner than that. But it sounds like we're in for a real treat. They make it sound like they're putitng together a good set.

"Exec producer Howard West claims that DVDs *are* in the works and should roll out by late next year. 'It takes time,' he explains about adding extras -- unseen footage, behind-the-scenes interviews -- to episodes filmed as long ago as 1990. 'We have to go backward to go forward.' But Columbia-TriStar, who will distribute, says it has no timetable for the release."

Good Lord, you people just don't stop.
Anyways, I think this is bad news but I bet Jerry will talk them into it. I'd like to see the interviews, and of course the commentaries. This set is less than a year away!

I can't wait to get my hands on the Seinfeld series on DVD. I already have most of Friends and Alias on DVD. I do hope they price them fair, because collecting TV seasons on DVD gets rather expensive.

Would their addition be nice? Sure. But necessary? Hardly.
I'd love to hear a Seinfeld and Larry David commentary on every episode. The others... eh.
And why should they receive more than a one-time fee? Most film actors get paid for their roles. Most tv actors too. To expect points from a show of which you are not a producer is just ridiculous. Oh, sure, everyone wants the money, but obviously the DVDs are going to go ahead without them.
And good riddence.
