I can't wait for these already!
Strange Days anamorphic WS SE
Titanic anamorphic WS SE
Top Gun anamorphic WS SE
p.s.-original editions currently owned in your collection would be void as an SE/correct OAR entry.

DVD Talk Hero - 2023 TOTY Award Winner
I suffered a breakin many months ago and the guy swept parts of the first few shelves in my DVD cabinet into a box. The only two I have not replaced with the insurance money are:
Flash Gordon, because I bought it for $8 at Wallyworld way back when but in the time since it has gone OOP and is now suddenly expensive. I'm not paying $35 for such a lousy DVD, even if the film itself is the pinnacle of fun campiness.
-and-
The English Patient, because I am still waiting for the rumored SE. Of course, the SE has been rumored for at least a year now. If I come across the original non-anny version for less than $12 I will probably pick it up anyway.
edit: reading some of the other replies made me realize that I have not picked up Blade Runner yet for the reason mentioned and would probably buy Christmas Vacation if a widescreen version were available.

FLASH GORDON!!! I have to agree with. Best movie from 1980 and it has no extras and is in need of anamoprhic and 5.1 soundtrack! It needs the 2 disc treatment now. Maybe in 2005 for its 25th anniversary?!

A lot of early Warners discs, but most importantly BLADE RUNNER and THE ROAD WARRIOR. RW is OAR an anamorphic, but the transfer looks identical to the laserdisc. Not to mention that Warners released a VHS with a behind-the-scenes doc that wasn't included on the DVD. I'm sure they'll revisit this one at some point.

The UK Reg 2 of Armageddon is identical to the Criterion (even says Criterion on the sleeve) and is anamorphic.

Timecop (Jean-Claude Van Damme)
Twins (Arnold Schwarzenegger)
Both of these have been on my list for 4 years or so. They're currently available only in pan 'n' scan (I think). To add insult to injury, they still have a $24.98 MSRP--not that I'd buy 'em anyway.
