Bertrand Tavernier on DVD

One of my favorite conemporary directors yet the only excellent quality DVD of his films is the Clean Slate Criterion. I've seen Kino's DVD of Sunday in the Country and it looked terible (non-anamorphic and burned in subtitles). This has made me wary of any of Kino's other Tavernier titles.

Are any of them good quality? How is the Capitan Conan disc?

I would recommend the French R2 discs as they have English subs and are significanlty better than the R1 ones.

Look at the International forum for more info.

'CLEAN SLATE' is such a wonderful movie and the DVD from Criterion is as wonderful as the movie itself.

is "Safe Conduct" going to get released on DVD soon, or is it too early since it's still in a few theatres nationally?
