Catch me if you Can was my 500th, been collecting since Christmas 1999.

I'm going to be cutting way down now that I'm out of shelf space.

Not that anyone cares (except me, and my wife, who I'd really rather not know the exact count), but I hit 500 last week with "The Man From Laramie"--already well on my way to 600 with about 25 in some stage of the shipping process.

I care. 500 is a nice, round, fat number. and if my wife really knew just how many I have on order....she'd go balistic!

I'm at a little over 300 and already I'm running out of shelf space. I can only imagine how bad it's going to get if and when I get to 1000 or more!

Congrats!

250ish here..since December 1999. (On a budget..what can I say..)

I just got the Penguin 360 count rack thinking it'd take me a while to "grow into it." No such luck...since I count by title, I'm already almost full. (3 bond boxsets but 16 or 17 movies, TV shows, etc)

I'm at 200 now, been collecting since the dawn of DVD. My collection has slowed to a "want list" of Movies not on DVD yet. I guess I just dont like enough movies . I like my collection to be quality over quantity, resist the impuse DVD purchase you will later regret.

Thanks, and nice smilie!

Of course, it's not the quantity, it's the quality, but I'm pretty happy with that too.

Just passed 200 (now at 214) on my Birthday after 3 years of buying.

I hope to only buy about 10 more DVDs the rest of the year. Not alot coming out that really grabs me (X-Men 2, Hulk...)

Hit 220, only bought about 20 in 2002, not a lot of titles hit me. That has changed this year, great titles coming out.

It was my second time getting back up to that number.

P.S. Only been collecting 4 years too.
After 4 years that is SOME willpower you have...

I hit 300 about a year ago and have tried to slow down, but alas it never seems to work... almost at 400 now.

I just hit 225 and am trying to slow my consumption. Truthfully, I own about every movie I've ever wanted to own, and now am just picking up those (like the upcoming "20,000 Leagues...") that are, IMHO, must haves. Ah, but I remember when I had 3 CH memberships going.....

i should be hitting 100 (~2 years worth) soon. i need to count them.

btw; if you have like 98 dvds and get 6 at once from CH, do you just count the 2nd one you remove from the box?

From: You have moved into a dark place. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
Each of my reporting systems says that I have a different number - so I don't really worry about it. I think everything's in Profiler, but they don't count boxed sets as individual discs - like the Kubrick Collection (the first one) should be seven discs, but it just shows up as 1. So I input the discs seperately.

But then there's the Ultimate Toy Box, which I input as one entry. DVD AF shows that as THREE discs, since it counts the extras too - so it's really hard to say.

Maybe we should count the physical DVD platters.

I would do it alphabetically.

I thought you meant you were going for 300lbs, meaning disability pay, ala Homer Simpson.

Congrats on 300.

Well, I used to have a thread that tracked how many DVDs everyone has ... but it got to be too much work (or I got too busy with other work). So now we are back to threads like this. Oh well.

Anyhow ... I think I have around 2,000 DVDs. I'm not sure exactly ... and will be counting them soon for an exact number.
